Alicante Bay
Alicante is a rapidly growing city and a major gateway to the Costa Blanca resorts. It has an impressive castle, the "Castillo de Santa Barbara" and a spacious harbour. The holiday resort Playa San Juan is just 9 miles from Alicante International airport and has a long open beach.

out of 5NH Cristal Hotel is conveniently situated off the Rambla close to the esplanade, shops, plenty of bars and restaurants. It is fairly basic but quiet and served its purpose. Breakfast was good with an adequate choice of items.The main attraction was the Santa Barbara Castle reached using the Turibus. Shops were well scattered with no significant pedestrianised shopping precinct. Felt safe walking around in the evenings.

out of 5Had a lovely few days staying in Alicante early February. The Carnival night on the saturday was wonderful and we shall try & get there again for it.It is so easy getting to visit other towns nearby thanks to the cheap and frequent tram system
