Good location, good value
Stay Date: April 2015 , Terence W , Nashville, United States
I stayed here for 2 nights to do some sightseeing in London. This hotel is located very close (2 blocks) to the Barbican Underground station. It's also about a 10 … Read More min walk to the St Paul's Underground station and others. Total transit time of about 30 min to Westminster Abbey and about 30 min to the British Museum. Breakfastwas not included in my rate, but there were several bakeries and a Starbucks 1 block to the north, which was very convenient. All of the keys are RFID, which meansthat you can leave the key in your wallet and just touch your wallet to the pad to unlock doors and call the elevator (this is handy when you are lugging around bags). My room had a basic kitchen (which I did not use), TV, comfortable bed, lots of power outlets at convenient locations, and many lamps. There did not appear to be aconvenient location to put a suitcase (the closet is too narrow), so I opened it up on the floor in front of the TV. The toilet in my room splashed water onto theground (or onto me) when flushed, so I had to get used to standing out of the way and then hitting the flush button. When we checked out, I asked the hotel to hold myluggage. They had me mark my bags with tags and then handed the key to the luggage room to me, then waited for me to return. While the room was locked, any otherguests could have gone through my luggage and taken things. I would have preferred to see a luggage room where only staff is allowed to enter. Overall, though, I hada good stay. I did like the location, which was my primary motivation for staying there. And I would stay there again on another trip. Collapse
