out of 5Enroute to the lake district found the mystery hotel at lancaster excellent value, clean, efficient friendly staff, good sized room, good pool and gym. Breakfast good, but cold plates for cooked breakfast only complaint.

out of 5Hotel was excellent, nice family room with view over river. Very clean, good mattresses and pillows. Friendly staff even knocked on our door to bring jaffa cakes as a treat for the kids on arrival. Breakfast fry up was good, though nothing spectacular. Pool and facilities fantastic for adults and kids alike. Only disappointment was there were no therapists on duty during our stay, which was a shame as part of the reason for going to a spa hotel was for the treatments available. Hotel dead easy to find, just off m6. Well placed for getting to the lakes easily. Pub up the road (brewers fayre or similar chain) had a kids' soft play zone but the pub was busy and the staff less friendly - we ended up going back to the hotel to eat in the evenings. Good service for evening meals in restaurant or bar, though best to book in as they get busy with visiting workforces staying over. Overall, can't say enough good things about our trip and the negatives mentioned hardly made a dent. I was straight back on Superbreak's website when we got home trying to find another break that we could get booked in for.

out of 5Great walk down the canal form our hotel - staff very helpful in advising us. Brilliant tour of the castle with very knowledgeable guide - lisa. Markets and shops and coffee bars followed by a great meal at the meeting house and live music in a bar - perfect weekend.
