About Yes, Prime Minister

The hilarious award winning comedy Yes Prime Minister play, is retuning to the West End for a limited run at the Apollo Theatre from the 6th of June 2011. Yes, Prime Minister is written by Jonathan Lynn and Antony Jay, the original writing team that brought the sitcom, and its predecessor Yes, Minister, to the nations TV screens. The pair have reunited for this special anniversary production. Following a critically acclaimed West End run Yes Prime Minister the play also won the Whatsonstage.com award for Best New Comedy 2011, securing its place as one of the most loved comic shows.

Yes, Prime Minister the play follows the story of British PM Jim Hacker and Cabinet Secretary Sir Humphrey Appleby who are running a country facing a financial meltdown. Their only hope for salvation lies with some morally dubious allies, which leads to comic consequences.

Following a hugely successful UK tour, Simon Williams will play the role of Sir Humphrey Appleby and Olivier Award-nominee Richard McCabe will play Prime Minister Jim Hacker for this limited run.
