The park inn York was in an excellant location for all of yorks atractions. The hotel was spotlessly clean with very helpful and friendly staff, the room we had was a room with a river view and was spacious and airy. The park inn was perfect for a visit we would definately stay there again.

Superb Trip To York!

A customerfrom UKwho stayed at this hotel wrote this review.

Stay Date: 20/04/12

Overall Hotel Rating:

4 out of 5

Despite the rain over our two day trip, we enjoyed our stay. York is an excellent location, with plenty of attractions which can be visited easily during a short trip. Superbreak gave us the opportunity of booking a very good value train and hotel package. The park inn is in an excellent location on the river ouse, with a range of attractions easily accessible on foot. Our room, nr.215, was very good; it appears to be recently renovated, faces the river and was spotlessly clean. For breakfast there was plenty of choice, - cooked items - not that hot unfortunately, - cold meats and cheeses, fruit, cereals and pastries. The scrambled egg was very runny, however. Some of the reception staff could have been more helpful. Although we arrived in good time, around three o'clock, we had to wait ages before a room was found for us. We were given a room on the second floor, although we had requested an upper floor room when we booked three months earlier. The location and the excellent room would make us consider returning to the park inn, though the service could have been much better and the rather down-at-heel breakfast room was not very inviting. We would definitely recommend going to the national railway museum,- free admission and so much to see -, the jorvik viking centre and the merchant adventurers' hall. The minster is certainly beautiful, though we didn't go inside during this visit. £9.25 for adult admission. Both restaurants we visited were superb. Melton's too is bistro style with well priced regional dishes, extremely well cooked. Castlegate 31 could be considered a fine dining venue with a delicious european menu.

Fantastic Spring Break

This was our second 'Superbreak' visit to York returning because there wasn't time to do everything the first time! the hotel we chose was very comfortable and really excellent value for money. With a riverside room we had great views and could walk everywhere. Hotel staff were extremely helpful and welcoming. With dinner, b+b we spent virtually nothing extra on food. Centrally located we didn't need a car and had a very pleasant trip to Harrogate on yet another train deal! thank you Superbreak.

Long Weekend In York

Family break over the easter weekend in york. Hotel was bright, clean & central to most attractions. Food at breakfast was very good with lots of choice, however staff were on the whole disorganised. On both mornings we had to ask for tea/coffee as no-one bothered to come over to ask!!.
