The Jewel That Is Inveraray

A customerwho stayed at 3* Argyll Hotel (2 Night Offer & 1st Night Dinner) in Inveraray wrote this review.

Stay Date: 22/03/12

Overall Hotel Rating:

4 out of 5

The Argyll hotel looks run down from the outside but there was work going on outside to refurbish the arch on the roadway. We were lucky with the early spring and the walks were superb along with the views. It was unfortunate that auchindrain, the village was not reallky open but the staff, who were setting up, were very helpful. I forgot that scotland closes from october until april, and i am scots!. Cruachan power station and the walk to the dam were out of this world.

Stay Date: 25/02/12

Overall Hotel Rating:

The hotel was comfortable with everything in the room that you might need. Generous amount of food which was not the most exciting but was more than adequate. The waitress was very helpful and friendly.

Lovely Inveraray

A customerwho stayed at 3* Argyll Hotel (2 Night Offer & 1st Night Dinner) in Inveraray wrote this review.

Stay Date: 19/02/12

Overall Hotel Rating:

4 out of 5

Myself and my other half love Inveraray and surrounding area (arrochar et al) so getting a holiday voucher was great, as we treated ourself to 2 nights b&b at argyll hotel, with dinner on 1st night included. Fantastic value all round. Hotel rooms and some communal areas a bit tired decor-wise but to those people who have complained about this before, i would suggest you look at the business models of rural hotels vs business models of city centre hotels - rural hotels will never be able to match the level of investment of a city centre hotel at the reasonable prices charged by the argyll hotel, so expect some compromises. Staff were really good and accommodating if you make the effort, although one of the waitresses was a bit robotic and lacking in charisma or chat, or perhaps we were just expecting a bit much. Front of house and other waitress were top drawer. The surroundings make the stay worthwhile. The fact that there is a comfortable hotel to stay in is great, although quality of sleep not brilliant, as noise can be heard quite loudly from some other rooms due to thin stud walls, which is a bit of a shame in such an old building dating from the 1700s. Overall, we loved it though and will be back for more! Thanks to the arygll hotel staff, what a beautiful neck of the woods to live and work in.

Lovely Short Break

A customerfrom UKwho stayed at 3* Isles of Glencoe Hotel in Glencoe (Ballachulish) wrote this review.

Stay Date: 12/02/12

Overall Hotel Rating:

5 out of 5

The isles of glencoe hotel is to be highly recommended, impeccably clean rooms, attentive, friendly staff, great food and some of the most spectacular views anywhere, definate 9.5/10 only minor gripe was a lack of spa facilities such as massage and beauty treatments. A hotel in the prime location it is in the centre of the skiing and hillwalking/mountaineering areas these facilities would be a great boost.

Relaxing Stay

A customerwho stayed at 4* Stonefield Castle Hotel (2 Night Offer & 1st Night Dinner) in Tarbert wrote this review.

Stay Date: 30/10/11

Overall Hotel Rating:

5 out of 5

The short break was to unwind for 2 days. The hotel grounds were lovely to walk around and just chill out, good relaxing few days would go back. The only down side no transport into town. One taxi which had the night off, and nothing on from the hotel, so if you would like a drink the only option is to walk into town (2 miles!) or stay in the hotel bar.
