out of 5Weather excellent, hotel easy to find, free parking, no view from room but light airy and clean room-shame about the skewiff plastic loo seat though! Hotel near to city but very quiet no-one to meet in the bar in the evenings. Arrived sunday lunchtime and took city sightseeing bus in the afternoon to get our bearings-excellent and very helpful driver, 48hrs for 2 @ £17! used this bus next 2 days too. Part of the walls and railway museum on monday witgh a wander around the city. Tuesday more of the walls, the quilt museum and jorvik centre, ghost walk from the minster at 1930hrs was interesting but not exciting. Homeward bound on wednesday had lunch at the sherwood forest visitor centre and walked to the mighty oak, a nice break and good value for money.

out of 5We enjoyed a short break mainly to visit our daughter who has recently bought a small house in Heworth. Despite snow and extreme cold the hotel was fine and conveniently placed for the short trip into the city centre. We will be back.

out of 5We visited york from the 6th to 10th of june. We stayed at heworth court hotel which was only a 15 min walk from the centre of york. The hotel was rated 4 star but the room we had was in the attic and it was more like 1 or at the most 2 star the room was dated with old blinds at the window and no curtains. When the sun came up at 4.30am the room was filled with daylight. The weather was not very warm and the room was stifling. I would hate to stay there when it was really warm. The staff were lovely and the breakfast was really good. Would not stay at this hotel again as i don't think these rooms should even be used. Loved york it is a beautiful city with so much to see and do and the people are lovely. On our first night we went to the royal oak for dinner and the food was excellent and we ended up going back every night.
