out of 5We came for a 2 night break as a birthday treat. The hotel was lovely the rooms were excellent. We had a lovely view from the bedroom. The champagne and flowers that were ordered were lovely there was the sound of barking dogs from a couple of rooms below us. The only criticism of the hotel was that in the dining room there was only one vegetarian choice and the menu did not change the next day. However the choices on the lounge menu were delicious. We visited the roman museum which unless you actually go in you cannot sit down for a drink you can only have a take out drink. And hadriens wall. We also went to the rheged centre which was excellent.
