out of 5We were bitterly disappointed with the hotel. The room was well below standard for a travelodge and the sofa bed my children slept in was dusty and dirty. We tried to get more pillows and were told that the hotel was full and we could not have any more. Definately will never be staying there again.

out of 5We stayed at docklands travelodge in London, which offered easy access to dlr and underground system for visiting London. We visited the natural history museum which was free to enter, and offered a very good range of things to see and do. We had a meal at bella italia near victoria undergroup station, which was just round the corner from our theatre venue, victoria apollo theatre. We saw wicked, and it was an amzing show, musically and technically brilliant!.

out of 5Hotel was good despite hearing reports otherwise. Breakfast was also good, plenty of it and nice and warm. Excellent position for trains and tubes, close to canary wharf and jamie's italian, which had delicious typical italian dishes and at £50 for 3 courses and 4 bottles of beer was excellent value.

out of 5The hotel was very close to the dlr east india stop also very easy to find. But if you want to check in early you have to pay because they don't have a room to store luggage. We had a few days where the kids told us what they wanted to do, so we went to the v&a toy museum (free entry)in bethnal green there was some hands on things the kids can join in with while the adults walk round and find the toys they had as kids. We also had to go to the tower because my yongest wanted to see where they chopped the heads off, that filled the whole day we saw everything. We also went back to buckingham palace because we had to see kates dress. A good time was had by all even daddys wallet because we booked things online before we went to get a discont, and we had our last year buckingham palace tickets turned into a years pass(free second visit).

A Visit To London
A customerfrom UKwho stayed at this hotel wrote this review.
Stay Date: 19/08/11
Overall Hotel Rating:
out of 5I recently took my sons to London to go on the London Eye. We stayed at the Travelodge in the Docklands. This was hidden in a block of office buildings and wasn't easy to find when we got off the dlr at east india. When we arrived in the room I found it was only made up for two, when I asked at reception I was told I had to make up the other beds myself!i would not return there. We found the three trains that we needed to take to get to any of the attractions in london to be a bind. It was not enjoyable.

Great Value Holiday With Superbreak
A customerfrom UKwho stayed at this hotel wrote this review.
Stay Date: 10/08/11
Overall Hotel Rating:
out of 5This was a good value holiday. We travelled first class on east coast trains from york to london which, for the price, was really worthwhile and very comfortable. The hotel was typical travelodge (docklands) although the evening bar/restaurant offer was very good. If staying here, ask for a room overlooking the car park - we had a room overlooking the main east india road which was exceptionally noisy at all times. Using the underground/dlr was easy but I wish that we had been told how to use an oyster card properly - having a conversation with a guard who was checking tickets and passes and trying to explain that you had not scanned your card properly was a bit embarrassing! in london - visit hampton court - it is fantastic! avoid kew gardens unless you are a horticulturalist or a botonist - there really isn't a great deal to engage a sightseer or casual visitor. Go to maritime greenwich but, unless you want to pay a fortune, avoid the royal observatory - just walk up the hill and take in the fabulous views.

A customerfrom UKwho stayed at this hotel wrote this review.

Overall Hotel Rating:
out of 51 grannie and 2 mums with 5 children ventured down to london on the east coast rail line. Our train journey could not have been better and arrived as scheduled, to the very minute. We used the london underground and dlr light railway to travel to the london dockland hotel. This hotel catered for the needs of us all and we ate in the restaurant on the first night, which was very good value and the drinks were not expensive at all. At breakfast, the queue at the peak times, was quite lengthy, but the staff coped well and we were always tabled together, even though we were a large party. We will certainly stay in this hotel again in the future as it was very central to the dlr station and for all the attractions we wanted to see and also a short train journey away from the O2 at greenwich. Looking forward to our next trip to london next year!!.

Overall Hotel Rating:
out of 5Checking into the london docklands tavelodge was a breeze although getting there isnt the easiest of things to do. First order at the train station when we arrived was getting 2 day passes for the underground (it was 2 changes to get to the theatre district from the hotel) and an advance ticket for madam tussaudes the next day (its cheaper that way) check in wasnt till after 3 so by the time we checked in, we got dressed and headed straight out to the theatre district. We saw chicago and it was amazing. We had to head home straight after the show because the dlr line finishes early and thats how we had to get back to the hotel. The next day we did the touristy things, london tower bridge, madam tussaudes, shopping etc. Went to dinner and got back around 11, had a few drinks at the bar. The next day we took advantage of the free late checkout and left at 12 midday. The internet was 5 pound an hour and you had to use it as soon as you paid for it. And its far from the city centre, but perfect for the o2 arena.

out of 5Stayed at travelodge docklands for one night after roger waters the wall show. The hotel offered cheap and cheerful accommodation and was in easy reach of the o2 via the dlr. I would use this hotel again for another show. I was impressed with the o2 venue, the acoustics were superb. Daytime was spent around greenwich market which was a good day out in its self.

out of 5Not far tom the est india dlr this hotel is perfectly located for getting to and from the o2. Location could be better described as you have to cross the footbridge over the busy a13 - but only a short walk after then. Room clean and tidy. Breakfast was basic but adequate, but very busy when i got there so as a solo had to sit at the bar- not fantastic but ok.

Traffic noise was loud though. O2 arena was excellent with a wide choice of restaurants and things to do. Barry manilow concert first class too.

out of 5We went to London to see the wizard of oz which was excellent,as it was the week of the royal wedding we walked around the main sites of london the day before the wedding we had a great time. The hotel was fine for a short break, we had a couple of evening meals which were fine apart from one of our party is on a glutan free diet and asked for a plain salmon which came with cajan seasoning which she couldnt eat. The breakfast wasn't good at all it was cold, cheap not nice tasting sausages, beans and youghurts. One more word of warning do not get a hot chocolate from harrods it was tiny, we couldn't stop laughing at it.

out of 5This is the first time i have been in london it was fab. We saw all the sights there was lots of walking. The tube is the best way to travel and was cheap once we worked out what ticket to get. The hotel was clean and breakfast was good but it was a bit further out that we expected we would have prefered to be nearer the centre of london.
Urban Beauty
A customerwho stayed at this hotel wrote this review.
Stay Date: 23/04/11
Overall Hotel Rating:
out of 5The location of the hotel is almost surreal: the tall office blocks surrounding the travelodge are exquisitely built and the frequent water features are almost venice-like with attractive trees dotted around. There's an astonishing quiet and peace to the area. It really is a splendid oasis outside busy central london. The hotel staff were really helpful, rooms clean and the hotel restaurant on site was very cosy and pleasantly designed. A great location and venue.

out of 5We had gone to visit family recently moved to Greenwich. On the Sunday we walked around the Greenwich college and went in to see the beautiful chapel. Visited the market and had a great meal [at a reasonable price] in a sushi restaurant [our first experience of such]. When we bought our Superbreak we also bought first class railway tickets, return ones for the same price as standard single fare! we also bought the oyster card so could travel freely on the underground. Topped up this will be used on our next London superbreak - already booked.

out of 5The main purpose of our trip was to see "The house of Viktor & Rolf" at The Barbican. The exhibition was brilliant and The Barbican was a great venue and easy to find from the tube. Portobello Road was good. The houses look lovely but the market is all antiques and vintage and I'm not into that at all. It was good to go and soak up the atmosphere. I chose to stay out at Docklands as I thought it would be quiet. This was so not the case. The hotel was next to a busy main road and the traffic did not stop all night. We had to have the window open as it was so warm. All the vending machines in the hotel were out of order so we either had to buy drinks from the bar (which were expensive)or, as we did, walk to a nearby garage and stock up on drinks. I did enjoy the trip but was dissapointed by the hotel.

out of 5We booked the Travelodge Docklands through Superbreak and we got their confirmation. The hotel could not find our confirmation and did not know the Superbreak conf.nr. We had to wait for over an hour to get the room, they had to call their central reservations and Superbreak, but had no clue what had gone wrong. The person at the front desk was very uncomfortable with the situation and did not get good support from their management or internal helpdesk. Since we had already paid and we had vouchers for 2 nights we still got a room. The hotel was 100% booked, so I guess later that evening, they had to say no to somebody else. Hotel was okay, rooms were a bit dated and did not have phones. Very limited number of tv channels. Location is good, for visiting London. It is very close to the Light Rail station, which brings you within 10 minutes to London. Area around the hotel is not very interesting, mainly offices, no restaurants/bars in walking distance. Recommendation is that you have dinner first and then go back to the hotel.
