A Weekend In Canterbury

Overall Hotel Rating:
out of 5We stayed at the Canterbury Dunkirk Travelodge as we had gone to collect our daughter from her university summer school karate week at Kent university. After picking up our daughter, we went on to Whitstable & Herne Bay, followed by Margate, Broadstairs and then Ramsgate, where we stopped for a coffee and then ice cream, at a cafe in the harbour. The sun also came out and this made us all feel good, sitting overlooking the harbour with all its boats and just watching the world go by. We then set off back to Canterbury and our card radio picked up a french radio station so we certainly felt we were on holiday and a long way from our home in the west country. There was some confusion over the 2 rooms we had booked when we got to the Travelodge, as they only had one ready for us, but after a telephone call to a very friendly and helpful member of staff at Superbreak and subsequent telephone call by them to Travelodge, the 2nd room was found and we were able to have a rest before going out to Canterbury in the evening. On Sunday we went home via the M25 and the Dartford crossing so we could say we had been all round the M25, having come via the M40 then M25 anti clockwise on our outward journey on the Saturday. An enjoybale, eventful and tiring weekend.
