A Good Day In Kendal

A customerwho stayed at this hotel wrote this review.

Stay Date: 14/03/12

Overall Hotel Rating:

4 out of 5

This visit was combined with visiting friends, so the rather dull weather was no problem. We walked up to kendal castle, from which one gains an impressive view of the town. Following coffee in the disappointing "shoe" outlet, we went on to blackwell, the amazing arts & crafts house, just outside windermere. This is truely exciting & different to anything you have seen before. Then back to stonecross manor, for a swim & a delightful meal.

Our Visit To The Lakes

A customerfrom UKwho stayed at this hotel wrote this review.

Stay Date: 11/03/12

Overall Hotel Rating:

3 out of 5

Hotel from the outside looked pretty impressive. When we approached reception the member of staff seemed very robotic no smiles. The room was a decent size but the bed was very uncomfortable and there was a lot of outside noise while we were trying to sleep, fans going on and off constantly. After a terrible nights sleep we headed down for breakfast the staff there could not be more different than the one we encountered previously very attentive and helpful. There was plenty of choice for breakfast array of hot food, cereals and fruit. Lake Windermere is beautiful and we were lucky enough to visit on a day the sun was out! caught a boat from Windermere to Ambleside where we had lunch and a nice walk around before returning on a boat back to Windermere.

Friendly Staff

A customerfrom United Kingdomwho stayed at this hotel wrote this review.

Overall Hotel Rating:

4 out of 5

The Superbreak lived up to its name. It was super. The staff were friendly, the hotel clean, the weather perfect for nov and the breakfast was excellent, especially the mushrooms. One problem, the bedroom was very hot, even with the window open, which is a crazy waste of energy in nov. The hotel rooms were very nice and they were quite. They had solved the problem of the previous reviews concerning adjoining doors. The pool and jacussi area was clean. The lake district was beautiful, but the forestry com. National trust, and the lakes councils charge far too much to park up anywhere. Not even a winter reduced price. Definitely put us off traveling there again. My pensioner mother can only do short walks now and begrudges paying £2 for a 20 minute walk. Who blames her.
