out of 5The hotel is surrounded by countryside so was very peaceful and scenic, a great location. My room had two balconies with great views, was very nicely decorated, spacious and big TV. The hotel has a nice walk around its grounds, including a nice river and plenty of wildlife (ie squirrels and sheep). Although I thought the squirrels may attack at one point the walk was pleasant. The hotel staff are friendly and it includes a nice seating area outside as well as a lovely decorated library and lounge. The food at the hotel was great though was a bit overpriced, I enjoyed it nonetheless. Caenarfon castle is just 5 minutes drive away and is great for castle-lovers. It's mostly in tact so you can get up the towers which have great views over the town and sea. It also has a quite large museum hidden away in the castle which was packed full of Welsh army equipment over the ages as well as a throne type thing used for the ceremony of crowning (?) Prince Charles with his title of 'Prince of Wales'. The town itself has a few nice bits to it, with views over the sea, but further into the town there isn't a great deal. Saying that - the town is close to other things to do such as Snowdon, a few other castles and I'm guessing, plenty of lovely scenery.

out of 5Didn't have time to visit local attractions as we were sailing from Holyhead to Dublin at noon the following day.Superb room, excellently situated hotel, staff very friendly. Service a little slow, waited 20 minutes for a bowl of porridge at breakfast. Only one small individual pot of marmalade on table (for 2 people) plentyof other preserves but for me "marmalade is breakfast"!!! 2 course meal advertised outside Hotel as £9.95 for 2 courses served until 6pm. On asking for this at 5p.m. were told that it used to be available but was not now. Yet it was still advertised on sandwich board, even when we left after pointing it out to them the previous day. Only minor problems - otherwise excellent, would visit again.
