out of 5Had a fantastic weekend in kendal. We were very lucky to enjoy an early heatwave which added to the enjoyment. The riverside hotel is excellent, great food and great accommodation. Occasionally there can be a slight problem with the car parking but nothing to really complain about. Will certainly be back.

out of 5Recently spent a weekend at the riverside hotel, kendal. It was our first visit to this hotel and can honestly say it is the best hotel we have stayed at in the lake district. The location is good and it is only a short walk to the centre of kendal. Excellent room, the food was of a high standard and the staff very efficient and friendly. We also made good use of the pool, steam room and sauna. Wouldn't hesitate to book this hotel again. We visited various places, ambleside, windemere and coniston. A great little find was the beetham nurseries, milnthorpe, a very relaxing place to visit with great restaurant.

out of 5A great hotel which overall was excellent. One problem though was that at night the rooms were far too hot for restful sleep only in kendal for two nights so stayed in the town which is very pretty and interesting.

out of 5Kendal is not too far from scotland but it feels like a world away. Traveling time from perthshire is 3 hours. The hotel was good on the inside but not so hot on the outside. We had a very nice meal in hotel 1st night and spent the rest of the evening on the balcony in the bar. It's all very clean and comfortable. Our room was on the top floor, spacious but very warm. We had our 14 month old son with us and were charged for 6oz of milk for his bottle!!.
