The hotel we stayed in was ok for what we wanted and paid but I wouldn't reccomend it for a special celebration. We had a quadruple room & that in itself was big and very clean but the bathroom was tiny - a tall person wouldn't be able to sit on the toilet with the door closed!! The breakfast was basic but the staff were friendly & very helpful. It had a youth hostel feel but this may have been a one off due to the group of young people who were also staying there & seemed to be dashing to & from each others rooms giggling etc at night. I accept though that we didn't pay much & you do get what you pay for. Also no hotel can't guarantee what the other guests will be like. Having visited Paris many times before we did the usual shopping/wander round Montmartre & the left bank but the first time went inside the original Opera house - Opera Garnier. The tour was in english & the guide was excellent. You felt that she loved the opera house & her job. Versailles was interesting but invloved some queeing so get their early to avoid the coach load of tourists. As for the Eiffel Tower, well I think that speaks for itself.... but we went up at night with gives you a totally different image of Paris.

Superbreak did us proud... Our first choice hotel was fully booked, or so it was discovered after we had booked it... Superbreak changed our booking to the next available Hotel at no extra cost to ourselves... great service. We went for a cheap and cheerful B&B, and no frills... which is what we got, the beds were comfortable, the breakfast was quite good, fresh Orange juice, a roll and a croissant and fresh coffee.The location was ideal, we could walk to the Louvre, but also we were near a Metro stop, so traveling around is easy... we bought a carnet, a group of 10 Metro tickets, which is cheaper than buying them individually. Coffee can be expensive if you sit down, which we did, but you can get it cheaper if you stand up at the bar, or whatever is available.We liked Paris, plenty to go and see and do, great food, if you are in the right place, quite cheap for the fixed menu's, the drinks on top make it a normal UK prices.

We thought we were staying at the Rex. All your photographswere of the Rex. On arrival we were told we were staying in the Comprador.The first room we were given was very dirty. The carpet had not been vacuumed for some time. When you dragged your foot over the carpet a pile of dirty fluff built up. The second room we were given was acceptable and we enjoyed staying in it.The only other point of note was that the corridors to the bedrooms were carpeted in red carpet which was also on the walls up to dado level and the carpet was dirty and stained. However we did enjoy our stay and if we had not been given the first unacceptable room I would probably be giving more positive feedback.

the best way to see the attractions is walking we would recommend a boat ride on the river Seine for a nice cup of coffee go to the bistro's
