I have stayed in this hotel earlier this year and yet again had a fantastic stay. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Room was very clean with lots of pillows. Its in a great location with views over the sea. The only down side was that the hotel was very hot and we had taken winter clothing with us. We had to turn off the radiator in the room and open the window for the whole of our stay.

The room we had in the hotel i felt was poor. There were light bulbs out handle missing off the wardrobe and the bathroom door kept sticking. Having said that the hotel staff were teriffic and could do enough for you.

Mecure Hythe Imperial

Stay Date: 21/04/10

Overall Hotel Rating:

3 out of 5

Superbreak offered an excellent price for a short break at the Mercure Hythe Imperial. I had seen mixed reviews of the hotel and it is true that some refurbishment of the rooms is required, especially the bathrooms (hot water was in short supply at times) and the antiquated tv. Otherwise the room was fine and we both slept very well. We did not eat dinner in the hotel restaurant as it seemed a little overpriced but the breakfasts were excellent. We did not use the lesiure facilities. I understand that further refurbishment of the hotel is planned. Hythe is a good place to walk around with the long promenade and the military canal and was a good base for touring both the north and south coasts.

We were visiting family who live in Folkestone and have up until this trip always stayed in Folkestone. The Mercure Hythe is a pleasant hotel which needs updating but I susepct in its hayday was a superb venue. The room was adequate but again needed redecorating. The best part was the excellent breakfast, the food was hot, the plates were hot and the staff very attentive. Will definitely consider staying there again on my next visit.

Short Break In Hythe

A customerwho stayed at this hotel wrote this review.

Stay Date: 22/05/09

Overall Hotel Rating:

4 out of 5

The Hotel was marvellous - staff friendly and helpful, on the couple of occasions when things did go wrong they were happy to comp us coffees etc - what did go wrong was that booking via Superbreak had never made it to the hotel and we had to wait for 4 single, rather than 2 twin, rooms to be cleaned. One of said singles was really below par and when we complained this room was changed. we still had a lovely time but it would have been better without that mix up.
