out of 5Lovely views of the lake from this hotel. Although Windermere is very busy and the smaller lakes which are just as pretty are quieter, local people are very friendly.

out of 5We travelled straight up to the lakes after closing our shop, to be greeted by friendly staff at the hotel, after a great nights sleep we went down to breakfast and then set off on a leasuely drive around Lake Thirlmere, we took the road around the back of the lake and it was a memorable experience with the most outstanding views accross the lake and hills stopping off to take many photos on the way (great photo shots).Must tell you about a great place we found for coffee and cake, its called Chesters and its at Skelwith bridge its built right at the side of a river, but be carefull cause it can't be seen from the road, and you can drive past the turning.

out of 5I'd recommend the Low Wood Hotel for anyone lookign for a quiet weekend with a bit of luxury.The facilites were great (Gym, pool, restaurants, bars). Excellent location and charming.I certainly will look to return there in the future and explore the lakes further.

out of 5My Husband and I went for our first anniversary, as a gift from my parents. This Hotel made it so special. It turned out a perfect night. The staff in the hotel were lovely and this made all the difference to our stay. The room was just what we wanted and more! The views in Windermere and surrounding areas are breathtaking. We visited Kendal on the way home and the shopping was great. I would not hesitate to go back to this Hotel for a special treat and would recommend to anyone. Thank you
