We had high expectations of the hall/hotel, on arrival unfortunately the receptions IT system wasn't update, sending us to an occupied room. Finally arriving at a petit & tired bedroom wasn't giving a good first impression. Throughout our stay the staff have been great especially the kitchen & service teams. There is potentially a fantastic facility that needs someone to life and reinvent from the quality point of view.

Excellent value for money. Comfortable hotel in beautiful grounds, adjacent golf course excellent with very good home cooking. Well positioned for visiting many places of interest. Car needed. Have now visited twice and look forward to returning to beautiful Northumberland. Bar food in hotel very reasonable.

Stayed at Longhirst hall for 3 nights which was super value for money, very comfortable room and the restaurant was excellent. The 'lounge menu' was particularly good! We took the train from Morpeth to Edinburgh for a day out and visited the Royal Yacht which was really interesting, would recommend taking afternoon tea on board and use the buses to get about as you get a good view of the city from the top deck. Despite the grim weather this was a really enjoyable short break.

Our Northumberland Break

A customerwho stayed at this hotel wrote this review.

Stay Date: 23/10/09

Overall Hotel Rating:

5 out of 5

Our hotel stay was excellent, staff so helpful. The weekend didn't quite go to plan as while on our first visit to Alnwick Castle, Jill fell on the slippery boardwalk and ended up in hospital with a broken hip and shoulder. Hospital was very caring and Longhirst Hall hotel staff found alternative rooms for me and returned address book, nt book and telephone charger to our home as left in room in my general confusion. We certainly hope to go back sometime in the spring to complete the rest of the castle visits, beach walks and other pleasures of Northumberland.
