out of 5Our visit this time was to go to the albert hall for the mountbatten festival concert held by the royal marines, which was excellent. The hotel was very good, we arrived early but our room was ready. The hotel restaurant did not offer much choice in food if we had time we would have found a place to eat elsewhere. I found the bed to be quite hard but did manage to sleep a little. Breakfast was warm but one of the loaves of brown bread had mould on it. Having said that the dining room staff were continually clearing and setting tables, they were very quick to serve and very happy and friendly. We will be happy to go back to this hotel.

out of 5Stayed in Lancaster Gate hotel which was our second choice but turned out to be excellent. A bit of a hike with the tube but discovered the 'oyster card' and buses!!! it was an ideal spot. Rooms spacious and very clean, breakfast reasonable for the numbers and not rushed. Found great italian restaurant just around the corner the taormina which had good food and good atmosphere. Would definitely stay there again.

out of 5The hotel room was very clean and comfortable. While there wasn't a lot of room at least there were 2 comfortable chairs and a small table where we could relax before going to the theatre. Usually there's only 1 chair so one of us has to sit on a bed. The bathroom was small but adequate and clean although i didn't think much of the fixed head shower which wasn't adjustable at all. Dining room was very pleasant and well organised, food was very good. The quiet was somewhat shattered on the last morning by a party or very enthusiastic french school children who were unleased en masse by the teachers but that didn't spoil our break.

out of 5I took my partner to London to see wicked the musical to celebrate her 50th birthday. The show was excellent as was the david hockney art exhibition which we also attended. However, the trip was spoilt by mis information provided on the grand central train website which showed that we were able to travel on the 8.55am york to london train. When arriving at york station we found that the train had been cancelled, but were advised by the station staff that we would have been unable to travel on this train anyway as it was operated by east coast trains. We caught a subsequent later grand central train which was also delayed meaning we didn't arrive in london until two and half hours later than we had planned. Better information on the grand central website would have avoided what would have been a totally brilliant trip.
