out of 5Grand Metropole hotel has an excellent position right on the beach side next to north pier. Rooms were kept clean but tv gave you a stiff neck - and was very small. Food of good standard and staff most helpful. Could be doing with more staff around during day though. It was a pity that the wintergardens closed their bar because they had 2 shows on and we had just bought a drink - before 10.00 pm. Did enjoy our weekend though. Karaoke across the street was a bit noisy on the friday night.

out of 5The hotel is undergoing a complete refurbishment and I have taken this into consideration. We had 3 rooms, every bathroom was excellent. My mothers single room was very small. It was very difficult to get around the upper levels with a wheelchair as there were numerous fire doors none of which were power assisted so we needed 2 people at all times. We were upgraded to the Worall restaurant at no cost. I appreciated this as there was always a queue for seats at the main restaurant.My major complaint was our bedroom. It was facing the main road and opposite the Sanuk night club. Monday was our only uninterupted nights sleep as the club was closed. When we asked to be moved we were told it was not possible as the hotel was full.

out of 5When I arrived (15:30), the room I was allocated was not made up and was rather dirty and smelly due to the detritus left behind by the previous guest. I returned to reception and had to wait some time before another was given. All this time I was in wet clothes, getting soaked on the way from the station to the hotel.
