Unexpected Break

out of 5We had cousins visiting from canada who had been planning to visit eygpt after visiting us but their trip there was cancelled so we offered to show them a bit more of scotland and we had a really enjoyable time visiting new lanark (which we had visited before and the falkirk wheel (which was a new attraction to us). We filled two very interesting days and were as impressed as our visitors because the two sites were good value for money and extremely interesting too. We had a very comfortable stay at the hotel at new lanark and the impressions created with our guests were as positive as our own, and they had visited places such as india and china in their travels over the years. A very successful short break!!.
Hotel Bar Meal

Overall Hotel Rating:
out of 5Staff were very pleasant but the meal very disappointing. The "traditional" steak pie was just a bit of stewed meat between two pieces of oval puff pastry which had been cooked separate and then put together.

Overall Hotel Rating:
out of 5Single room a bit small, no storage space. Restaurant food fine, but needed a touch of something wet, like gravy. Guinness in cans! nothing wrong with the hotel, but there are better in the area.
