out of 5Bristol Royal Marriott is the place to go if you want to indulge your senses. The building is stunning, the facilities are wonderful: the restaurant is straight from an Alma Tadema painting, without the nude women, although there are some classical statues. Old paintings adorn the walls. The two drawing rooms have huge comfy sofas and fires to warm your cockles on a chilly evening. We had a large room with all mod cons. You could even buy their very expensive bedding (and mattress). It was all there in the sales brochure! The staff were very friendly and helpful. And the evening meal (a la carte) was beautiful (considering it was all part of the deal). The meal and restaurant were so wonderful I told the staff I thought I had died and gone to heaven. And I was so full i could barely make inroads into the vast breakfast the following morning. So much choice. What a fabulous, special place to stay. I would go again and again!.
