About Deathtrap
Ingenious, witty and beautifully dark, Deathtrap is the celebrated comic-thriller by Ira Levin, the man behind The Stepford Wives, Rosemary's Baby, The Boys from Brazil and A Kiss Before Dying. In this, Levin’s most sinister yet humorous play, we follow the tale of the once great but now faltering play write Sidney Bruhl.
Bruhl is struggling after a string of flops at the box office and needs a big hit soon. Then one day he stumbles along the work of a young, talented writer Clifford Anderson and after meeting with the young man a plan is soon hatched out. Anderson’s work is far superior to anything Bruhl has written and so the plan becomes simple; kill Anderson and take all the credit for his brilliant play.
Matthew Warchus production of Levin’s classic comic-thriller is incredibly sharp, wonderfully engaging and truly thrilling from start to finish. With a myriad of exciting twists, turns and shock surprises, Deathtrap will have you on the edge of your seat from the very first act and will keep you guessing until the very last moments.
This new production of Deathtrap at the fabulous Noel Coward Theatre is also enhanced by an amazing all star cast. With stunning performances from both Simon Russell Beale (lead in the sell-out National Theatre production of London Assurance) and Jonathan Groff (star of the hit US TV series Glee and lead in the Tony Award winning Broadway production of Spring Awakening) Deathtrap is a must see for all theatre lovers.
Performance times for Deathtrap are as follows:
Evenings: Monday to Saturday 19:30
