A Brief Encounter with Paris

Stay Date: 02/12/07, a customer from Warboys who stayed at 4* Hotel Le Littre - Montparnasse in Paris wrote this review.

The Hotel is very well situated, metro from Gard Nord right to the door. We upgraded our rooms at Hotels suggestion which worked very well. We caught buses very easily to all our destinations, ate See More  Read more information well at breakfast and at the myriad of local brasseries. Final night was a treat at the tower, with its exhilirating ride to the 56th floor, it's breathtaking view and exquisite food. Not cheap by anymeans but a wonderful experience set off by the Eiffel Tower turning itself into a "Roman Candle" every hour. Even missing our Eurostar return train was not a crisis, being dealt with superbly byunderstanding staff!   Collapse  Hide

Second Honeymoon in Paris

Stay Date: 17/11/07, a customer from Newcastle Upon Tyne who stayed at 4* Millennium Hotel Paris Opera in Paris wrote this review.

The Metro was on strike, so we walked everywhere. It was a wonderful way to see Paris, just strolling around, sitting having a coffee and watching the world go by. For a romantic evening, try a See More  Read more information dinner cruise on the Bateaux Parisennes, with premier option. Very attentive service, without being over the top.   Collapse  Hide

the park is absolutely fantastic! i took my four year old and we had a three-day hopper pass each which is definitely worthwhile. Half Term in Paris staying at Dreamcastle Hotel

Stay Date: 28/10/07, a customer from Ballymena who stayed at 4* Dream Castle Hotel at Disneyland Paris in Disneyland Paris wrote this review.

Arrived 9.45pm at CDG got minibus for 60 euro for 3 right to hotel in 25 mins. Hotel check in superb as were the staff generally - fluent English. Room was very clean and well equipped. Great beds, See More  Read more information very comfortable. Breakfast was good with a wide selection of cerials, cold meats and cooked items. Stock up well for the day as lunches in Disney are stodgy and expensive. The evening buffet meal inthe Hotel is good and there's loads of choice, but if you dine there for 3 nights or more, you might find the same kind of things being offered only under a different theme or name. Including wine, dinner for 2 adults and 1 kid is usually about 100 euro. The Pink shuttle bus to Disney is better used early in the morning as it tends to fill up and get very crowded as the day progressess. Alwaysuse fast pass in the parks and start with Discovery land, by far the best. Use the Tourist Info at the entrance to Disney. They are brilliant at explaining what's good in Disney and in Paris and oftenhave discounted rates for buying from them. Disney land is very clean, well organised and completely child friendly. The town hall is good starting point for maps and information. Disney studios onthe whole disapointing, though the Animagic Show is worth seeing. The first half of the week was for our son, the second for the adults in Paris. What a beautiful city! The sights, the food, the wineand of course the French ladies were all superb! Take the train from Disney into Paris centre [45 mins] and then catch the red hop on hop off open top buses that offer a 2 day no limits ticket. Bestand quickest way to get a sense of the geography of the city. A boat trip along the river is a must and is best coupled with either lunch or a late afternoon meal onboard. All of the usual sights arewell worth seeing, though best to start joining the cue for the Tower as early in the morning as you can. Eating out in Paris can be as cheap or expensive as you care to make it. We would definitelyrecommend taking a week in Paris, split between Disney and the city centre. The Dream Castle Hotel is an ideal base for this kind of short break. It's friendly without being too Disneyed Up and youwont encounter an annoying Miceky or Minnie over breakfast. The pool and spa are a great way to relax on the last day before leaving and the Hotel bar is an OK place for a quiet tipple. There are anumber of kiddie attractions in the foyer and a few pool tables near the bar for the dads when it all becomes too much. Our short break took place during the last few days of October and first few ofNovember and the weather was still very pleasant [14 - 16 degrees]. I imagine the outdoor facilities, tearrace, garden, walks and lake would be stunning during the spring and summer months. The DreamCAstle Hotel is somewhere you can book with absolute confidence, knowing that you will enjoy comfortable beds, good food, a friendly and obliging staff and a good central location. For returning toCDG, use the minibus taxis. The drivers will charge you the same to take you to the airport but they will do so in 1/2 the time and in a way not dissimilar to the experince you will have on the spacemountain 2 ride!!   Collapse  Hide

Paris

Stay Date: 22/10/07, a customer who stayed at 3* Alane Hotel - Gare du Nord in Paris wrote this review.

If arriving via Charles de Gaulle airport use the RER train to get to Gare de Nord, 8.20 Euro single. The hotel is very handy for the Gare de Nord and Gare l'est. There are a few nice See More  Read more information cafe/restuarants around the stations. The actual hotel we felt didn't warrent the 3 stars that it has. The room was very small and the bed was a three quarter not a double. There was no tea/coffee makingfacilities in the room. Heating controls in the room were speratic and it wasn't until the final night that we got the room to a satisfactory temperature. Breakfasts were the same everyday, a piece ofbread, a croissant and a yogurt.   Collapse  Hide
