Relaxing Stay

Stay Date: 11/10/16, a customer aged 45-64 who stayed at 4* Polurrian Bay Hotel (2 Night Offer & 1st Night Dinner) in Lizard wrote this review.

Fabulously sited hotel with great views over the cove. Our room seemed to be one of the smallest in the hotel. We had to ask for a blind in the bathroom. Just because a room overlooks the car park See More  Read more information shouldn't mean no window coverings - there was also the problem that the outside fire escape could be accessed from the ground as well as above. The manner in which it was positioned meant that anyoneusing it could see straight into the bathroom. The hotel seemed to be well appointed for families though and I assume that would be a major attraction for some. Staff were friendly & pleasantthough service in the restaurant was somewhat slow (not enough staff). Overall, a pleasant but overpriced stay.   Collapse  Hide

Late summer break in Falmouth

Stay Date: 05/09/16, a customer aged 45-64 who stayed at 4* St Michaels Hotel & Spa in Falmouth wrote this review.

A pleasant hotel in a lovely location with very friendly staff. Room was rather small considering the cost but nice decor. Plenty of places to eat within walking distance which was good because the See More  Read more information restaurant seemed pricey. Breakfast was very good with lovely view of hotel gardens and the bay. Close to the beach and short walk to Pendennis Castle. Well situated for visiting major attractions e.gLand's End, St Michael's Mount and Eden Project. Swimming pool good.   Collapse  Hide

Lovely hidden gem of a hotel

Stay Date: 18/02/16, a customer aged 45-64 who stayed at 4* Lugger Hotel (2 Night Half Board Offer) in Truro wrote this review.

A lovely small hotel in a perfect location - remote, quiet and very unspoilt. Tucked away down narrow lanes in a quaint old fishing village. Lots of small touches such as hot chocolate and hot water See More  Read more information bottles make a stay here extra special. Fantastic Hidden Gem

Stay Date: 07/11/15, a customer aged 45-64 who stayed at 4* Lugger Hotel (2 Night Half Board Offer) in Truro wrote this review.

Fantastic! This sums up the entire Lugger Hotel experience. The location is absolutely stunning, the rooms are beautifully decorated with exceptionally comfy beds and bedding. All of the staff were See More  Read more information friendly and helpful (nothing was too much trouble) and you were really made to feel at home. The food was absolutely stunning and better than I have had in some 4 and 5 star hotels. We particularlyenjoyed all the added extra treats which we were not expecting, and the thought that had gone in to providing wellies, umbrellas and blankets for the terrace. Didn't want to leave and can't wait to goback.   Collapse  Hide

Great location, friendly staff

Stay Date: 12/06/15, a customer aged 25-44 from Ivybridge who stayed at 4* Polurrian Bay Hotel (2 Night Offer & 1st Night Dinner) in Lizard wrote this review.

It's billed as a family friendly hotel and we could instantly see why. The reviews for the hotel are good and so was our welcome. Very friendly from the outset and couldn't have been more helpful. See More  Read more information The room was basic but very spacious and, unusually for most hotels, had plenty of plug sockets. The only negative at all was that the water temperature of our shower was a tad variable at times, butusable and as we were only there for 2 nights we lived with it. There are several "themed" areas or rooms in the hotel for young kids and more teenage kids. There are board games and DVDs availableand the teenage room has a pool table, tabletop football, a PC, PS3, Xbox 360 and a Wii. More than enough to keep any kids from getting bored. We ate at the hotel on the first night, and whilst itwould have been expensive if we were paying, we couldn't fault it. Every course was delicious and if you like fish, there are loads of locally caught options. We didn't use the pool but the grounds andhotel generally were very well kept and the views were stunning. We are planning on going back to this hotel, but maybe with the kids next time.   Collapse  Hide

It would have been easy to fill the days without needing to use the car, however this would have meant missing the opportunity to explore the delightful lanes and hamlets thatlie along the estuary, and the wilder coastline around the Lizard peninsular. Food at the hotel was wonderful - amazing sandwich platters at lunch! Dinning was as formal or informal as you wish, wherever you chose to eat the standards were consistent. Most notable were the staff. from chambermaids to receptionists, all embodied the utmost in service and cordiality. nothing was too much troubleand service really was, on every occasion, with a smile!   Collapse  Hide
