Ideal West End location

Stay Date: 21/10/15, a customer aged 45-64 from United Kingdom who stayed at 4* The Cavendish London in Mayfair wrote this review.

I had planned an overnight theatre and gallery stay in London and love to walk, enjoying the people watching and the places you discover even in your own capital city. London hotel prices are crazy, See More  Read more information however. A late booking on this website yielded the perfectly positioned Cavendish for a very reasonable rate. It is on a quiet side street behind Fortnum and Masons and a minutes walk from my firstdestination, the Royal Academy. A few minutes walk from Piccadilly means it's very easy to hop on a bus using the brilliant TFL website if you are further afield, and it is only 10-15 minutes walkfrom theatre land. My request for a quieter upper level room was granted - their basic room and nothing special, though perfectly comfortable. I missed that you can ring for free extras e.g. toiletries, bath robe etc - possibly to save on space because the rooms are pretty small. A tasty buffet breakfast was included. The staff were attentive and courteous and check out time of midday meant I didn'tfeel rushed the next morning. No gym or pool on site, and limited public areas. This isn't a destination hotel in itself but just what I needed.   Collapse  Hide

Brilliant Beech Hill Hotel

Stay Date: 18/10/15, a customer aged 65+ who stayed at 4* Beech Hill Hotel & Spa in Windermere wrote this review.

An excellent hotel - about 3 miles out of Windermere on the Newby Bridge road. Car needed as the bus service to Windermere is very infrequent. Good car park at the hotel. Swimming pool is very See More  Read more information good. Very good breakfast - restaurant overlooks the lake with great views. Very helpful and friendly staff - any problems are sorted very quickly. Many interesting places around the area and many goodwalks. Kendal is the nearest big town but it's full of one-way streets and difficult to park. Hayes garden centre at Ambleside is worth a visit, though credit cards should be kept firmly lockedaway! Have been to Beech Hill Hotel quite a few times and will always try to stay there on visit to the Lake District.   Collapse  Hide
