Theatre Break - Avenue Q

Stay Date: 01/09/08, a customer from Lanarkshire who stayed at 3* Bedford Hotel in Russell Square wrote this review.

The Bedford Hotel had poor rock solid beds, that gave both myseof and partner bad backs and sore heads. The staff on the desk were in general ok. In the bar, the Spannish staff were more interested See More  Read more information talking to their friends than to serve paying customers and dealing with their needs. The food was very agerage. They claim the hotel was full, but there was no evidance of this at all! As for thereasion of the break (to see Avenue Q), this show was excellent. the full production as great. i could not stop laughing nor take my eyes off the actors as they were trully superb. I would definatelyreturn just for that show and see it a few more times. The Origional bus tour was reasonable too, but expensive. make sure that if you want to see Buck. Palace, you get the correct tour line, as the redline goes around the back and you see nothing of it. nothing. so plan the tour well, plus you need a full day of you want to get off and see all the bits of the tour   Collapse  Hide

I was however disapointed that when we arrived at noon it was not possible to get a drink or snack in the hotel, guests were expected to walk to thre adjoining golf club to getrefreshments, luckily it was not raining. Also coffee in the hotel was out of machines using carboard cups,a bit like a cheap motel.   Collapse  Hide

Short Break in Poole

Stay Date: 11/09/08, a customer from Banbury who stayed at 3* Salterns Harbourside Hotel in Poole wrote this review.

Fantastic view from our bedroom (which was huge and had panoramic windows) across the bay to Brownsea Island. Breakfast a little disappointing on day 1, but much better the next day. We booked to See More  Read more information have the "seafood themed" dinner on the first evening, which turned out to be very disappointing, particularly the main course. You may find better eating out locally. We decided to have dinner at thehotel - there didn't seem to be anywhere else locally without getting the car out anyway - and the food was very nice and reasonably priced. Sadly the breakfast next morning was luke warm, greasy andthere was little choice by the time we went in at around 9am, even though breakfast continued until 10am. Overall, a reasonable break though.   Collapse  Hide

A Few Days in Kent and Sussex

Stay Date: 09/09/08, a customer from Stevenage who stayed at 3* White Hart Hotel in Lewes wrote this review.

we first drove to whitstable, which was easy to park, good shops and a lovely walk from the harbour along the beach. next we arrived at the white hart hotel in the centre of lewes, nice rooms but the See More  Read more information food lacked a bit of imagination and variety, especially the breakfast. the hotel also had a indoor swimming pool which was an added bonus .the town was very pretty with lots of differentshops, especially delicatessens. also it had a castle and anne of cleves house, which were both within walking distance from the hotel. brighton was the place to walk along the prom and to explore the many lanes. wethen spent the next night in tonbridge wells, which is a very historical town, well worth a visit.we also ate in a great restaurant called the barns,we would reccomend the steak. all in all a veryenjoyable few days away.   Collapse  Hide
