Not so new New Place

We were disappointed with our chalet style room in the grounds of this hotel. The main building looks lovely but the chalet style rooms were in need of some TLC and maintenance. The curtains were See More  Read more information tatty with the hem hanging down onto the table below, net curtains dirty, the shower was poor with water squirting out from the hose connection, water didn't drain away well, the door chain didn't fitin the bracket so useless. Potential to be a lovely hotel but needs money spending on it. Room was spacious and well furnished but bathroom was badly in need of an upgrade. Corridors and carpets need attention too. The See More  Read more information restaurant, Jenny's, can not cope with the volume of guests. Food regularly ran out and was not replaced and tables and cutlery/crockery were grubby. Dirty Dancing Tour

We stayed at the Hotel Lanayr Blackpool on a two night break to see the show. On arrival we was offered a choice of two rooms we picked room 4 on the front of the house on the main road. The room See More  Read more information was clean and comfortable but the bathroom had been added to the room and was very small and when using the sink you had to leave the bathroom door open. The dining room and breakfast was ok -cereals,toast and a full English the normal thing in a hotel. With the room being on the main road it was noisy especially when the dustbin men came. There was private parking on the front for a few cars whichwe used. I think for £34 per night we would prefer to stay somewhere else but as it was close to Winter Gardens we managed.   Collapse  Hide
