Poor service

Stay Date: 01/11/14, a customer aged 45-64 who stayed at 3* Royal National Hotel in Russell Square wrote this review.

I was disappointed in the hotel we stayed in, (royal national) we checked in at reception and headed to our room but I couldn't get in, there was a note on the door asking when the occupants were See More  Read more information going to check out!! On returning to reception it turned out we had been given a room there were people still using... we were given another room, which didn't have a kettle, I called reception torequest one, after an hr and another call to reception one finally arrived.   Collapse  Hide

Weekend in York

Stay Date: 31/10/14, a customer aged 65+ from Bargoed who stayed at 3* The Queens Hotel (Including Dinner) in York wrote this review.

The basic reason was a conference on Sunday. But York is a good city for a weekend and the hotel was very convenient. Though it advertises dinners till 2100, it seems to subscribe mostly to the See More  Read more information Northern habit of early meals, all finished by about 2000.   Collapse  Hide

Weekend Break

Stay Date: 14/11/14, a customer aged 45-64 who stayed at 3* Imperial Hotel London in Russell Square wrote this review.

Birthday weekend. Stayed at the Imperial Hotel Russell Square. Hotel nicely situated and we could walk without getting lost. The hotel is adequate, however the queues for breakfast were incredibly See More  Read more information long made worse by one of the hot plates being out of action on the Sunday. Toast on a hot steam plate really isn't a pleasant experience. The room was clean and large (executive suite) and we had ahis and hers sink, which was great. Could not find how to turn the heating down and if you opened the windows there was a likelihood of noise from the casino, although we never heard a thing. The bedwas comfortable and interesting. It was on wheels and we did find ourselves travelling across the carpet. The hotel was easy to find if you did not take the first left out of the station. The bonus of a3 course evening meal on the first night was disappointing. If this is going to be offered perhaps a bit more care needs to go into the meal. It really felt like it was sitting waiting to be servedrather than cooked and served to order. The hotel does what it says on the tin. A reasonably low cost hotel with no frills.   Collapse  Hide

1 night stay in London

Stay Date: 02/11/14, a customer aged 25-44 from Wick who stayed at 3* Bayswater Inn Hotel in Bayswater wrote this review.

The hotel is currently undergoing a refit. One thing I was very unhappy of was the lack of communication about there being a fire alarm at 7pm and again at 7am! The staff barely spoke English and See More  Read more information weren't very welcoming. The location of the hotel was lovely and had a short distance to food and nightlife. The hotel room wasn't too bad apart from a bit of a stain on the floor but the bathroom wasimmaculate. The bed was warm and comfy, the food was good but shame about the staff.   Collapse  Hide

Stay at the Russell next time

Stay Date: 14/11/14, a customer aged 65+ from Huddersfield who stayed at 3* Bedford Hotel in Russell Square wrote this review.

The staff were in the main disinterested. The towels were small and paper thin. Both the hot and cold taps at the basin leaked to the point of distraction. The room was noisy from the street traffic See More  Read more information and the bed too short for a tall person. The food was mediocre, synthetic tasting and poor quality. No biscuits in the room at all and the daily allocation of milk carton reduced every day! The hotelwas reasonably conveniently sited and the car parking facility useful. The carpets were very poorly vacuumed with fluff clearly visible within and out with the room. All in all the manager needs toexert himself and metaphorically whip the whole unit into shape.   Collapse  Hide

Disappointing Hotel but Great Days out in London

Stay Date: 15/11/14, a customer aged 45-64 from Doncaster who stayed at 3* Royal National Hotel in Russell Square wrote this review.

The hotel rooms need a serious refurbishment, they were tired and shabby and the windows let in the noise and cold.
