Great two days in Greenwich

The Novotel in Greenwich is perfectly positioned for transport, be it a train or a boat. The hotel staff were delightful, the room was quiet and clean and the dinner at the hotel (which was See More  Read more information included) was very, very good. A break in York

The Queens is on a side street very near the river and central. Reception staff were good but rooms are not available until afternoon so you can leave your luggage behind reception. Breakfast is See More  Read more information Buffet style and not very exciting. The rooms are ok for an overnight stay and comfortable and clean. As this hotel is central everywhere you want to go is in walking distance. Would recommend YorkCastle museum and York Army Museum, also nice walking through the streets seeing interesting little shops and historical places of interest with explanations etc. York is def worth a visit.   Collapse  Hide

Good times in York

Wet walk in The Lakes

The Lindeth Howe is a fine old English style hotel with great food and even better service, think armchairs and log fires with lake views to the front. Our room to the rear was a good size and well See More  Read more information furnished, clean and well maintained with what looked like a new bathroom. The only but was the bed, I could feel the springs, so maybe not for fussy sleepers like me. The pool is clean but not verylarge it does not have a deep end, so good for kids. Oh and it's £4.50 in a taxi. The Italian across the road from the cinema is good. All in all we felt well looked after in a nice relaxed way andwould like to return but maybe to a deluxe room with a better bed.   Collapse  Hide

Nice central hotel. Facilities were good but a little tired. Breakfast was well organised and food nice and warm. The city is all nicely together which makes it very easy to get about.
