Family Visit to London.

Stay Date: 07/08/13, a customer aged 45-64 from Gateshead who stayed at 4* Crowne Plaza London-Kings Cross (2 Night Offer & 1st Night Dinner) in Kings Cross/Bloomsbury wrote this review.

This hotel proved an excellent base for a family holiday with young children. Don't be put off by its distance from the tube station. It is true, it would have taken at least fifteen to twenty See More  Read more information minutes to have walked to Kings Cross, but there is a regular bus service available from just outside the hotel which reduces the journey to five minutes. This is an excellent hotel which provided a goodbreakfast and our family room was very clean and comfortable and had all the facilities needed and expected. Staff were friendly and helpful. London is a very busy, but also very child friendly city.Children travel free on the tube and also on all buses. There are some great sights to see and plenty of free museums and galleries too. The dinosaurs are a "must" in the Natural History Museum. However, this section does get very busy but you can book a viewing time in advance online in order to jump the queue (it's free too!). Staff in the museum are very enthusiastic and helpful.Think aboutsupporting the museum by purchasing a guide on entry (the children's guide is superb.) Also, take the time to visit St James' Park and Green Park they are lovely to stroll around and although verypopular they are very peaceful. Our children loved seeing Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace and Trafalgar Square and the street performers at Covent Garden. The Tower of London is wellworth a visit, but again book online to jump the queues. We also enjoyed the South Bank. This is a lively area with plenty to interest all the family, good street food available, entertaining streetperformers, colourful carousels and a great atmosphere.   Collapse  Hide
