out of 5For a great day out buy a Royal Edinburgh ticket which for two days will take you around on a sight seeing bus for two days, hop on and off and entrance fast track to Edinburgh castle, Holyrood Palace, and The Royal Yacht Britannia. All three attractions worth a visit. For the other attractions use the local buses which are excellent value and so frequent.The Malmaison Hotel is just outside Edinburgh in the Leith area which is is up and coming on the edge of the Firth of Forth. Full fo bars and eateries. It is only a few minutes bus ride from the centre of Edinburgh but is so quiet and gives you another aspect of your holiday. In fact two locations rolled into one.

out of 5The Old Waverley hotel was good value for money being clean and friendly and in a great location for the rail station, city tours and city centre. Hotel food was good. Could do with a second lift to access upper floors but not a major problem.Edinburgh is a great city to visit and fortunately the weather was good for our stay. Traffic can be a problem especially in Princes Street.

out of 5My friend and I visited Edinburgh for a short break. We went with the intention of relaxing and taking in the sights of the city. We had an amazing trip to the Royal Yacht Britaina, enjoyed a cream tea on board whilst looking out to sea. Well worth a visit. We also went on a bus/boat trip to the forth Bridge, again well worth the money, we got to see some amazing sights as well as seeing sea lions and puffins whilst on the boat trip. We also spent a day at Portabella beach, relaxing in the sunshine. Unfortunately the Travelodge we stopped in was not one of the best experiences i have had. On arrival there was a mix up with our booking. The room was okay but when we tried to unpack our cases the draws in the room were screwed shut, when we asked at reception we were told it is Travelodges policy, but they didn't know why it was policy. so we had to live out of our cases for 5 days. Also the room was only cleaned once whilst we were there, we had to go to reception to ask for toilet rolls. Not the best experience I have had in a hotel.
