Polis and the island of Cyprus

The Hotel Mariela apartments is a quiet family run hotel with clean,well equipped kitchenette, the pool area is a tanning dream though very hot in mid afternoon due to lack of breeze. Situated 5 minutes from the town centre where most of the restaurants and bars are, it is quiet and apart from the occaisional traffic peaceful and an ideal place to relax. As it was off season no children were around however, at the weekends it is used by the Islanders as a home away from home though the children were no problem. Looking at next next year for our third visit.

Our first night in Cyprus was at the Roman Hotel in Paphos. It is a fascinating hotel all decorated with murals in Roman style with columns and architecture which takes you back in time. There is a great outdoor pool at this hotel ideal for an early morning dip. Cyprus is hot in mid summer and not all parts of the hotel have air conditioning but the rooms were fine even in the heat of the evening. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly.
