In November 2006, we set up a Staff Steering Group. This group of 8 members of staff meet every 6 weeks to discuss various issues such as staff wellbeing, green initiatives, social events and ways to give something back to the local community. They were closely consulted with as part of the preparation for the Company's office relocation in April 2008.

To open communication channels between staff and management, we have introduced an bi-annual staff opinion survey, the results of which are distributed to all staff. We have also introduced a Staff Suggestion Scheme where staff can make written suggestions for the work place. Suitable ideas which are submitted via either of these methods are implemented by the relevant departments, or the staff steering group, as appropriate.

We have introduced additional staff benefits including:

  • The introduction of Busy Bees Childcare Vouchers to provide tax and National Insurance savings for staff who use childcare services
  • Company assistance for staff that regularly cycle to work
  • Free access to computer equipment no longer needed by the company
  • Further reciprocal discounts or benefit arrangements with other holiday companies and hotel chains, plus the local Sainsbury's store

As part of our health and safety policy, an annual Display Screen Equipment Assessment audit is undertaken for all staff members regarding working position in relation to their P.C's. Any necessary changes or improvements resulting from the audit are implemented.

In order to maintain and improve effectiveness and benefit our employees, our call centre staff receive continual support, coaching and mentoring to develop their career. We also introduced NVQ schemes within the company during 2009, to encourage all staff to develop their career and support them where appropriate. Over 40 staff have already engaged with this.
