In November 2006, we set up a Staff Steering Group. This group of 8 members of staff meet every 5 weeks to discuss various issues such as staff wellbeing, green initiatives and ways to give something back to the local community. They are also closely involved in the office move (planned for March '08) and staff social events, such as a recent ten pin bowling evening part funded by Superbreak.

To open communication channels between staff and management, we have introduced an annual staff opinion survey, the results of which were distributed to all staff. We also introduced a Staff Suggestion Scheme where staff can make written suggestions for the work place. Suitable ideas which are submitted via either of these methods are implemented by the relevant departments, or the staff steering group, as appropriate. As many of the suggestions raised are related to the office environment, these are aimed to be implemented with the office move.

We have recently introduced additional staff benefits including:

Further ideas in relation to staff health and wellbeing which are in the process of being considered or implemented are the sponsorship of a Superbreak six-a-side football team and after work keep fit classes.

As part of our health and safety policy, a Display Screen Equipment Assessment audit was undertaken for all staff members regarding working position in relation to their P.C's. Any necessary changes or improvements resulting from the audit are currently being implemented and will continue to be monitored after the office move.

In order to maintain and improve effectiveness and benefit our employees, our call centre staff receive continual support, coaching and mentoring to develop their career. We are also looking into introducing NVQ schemes within other departments of the company and encourage all staff to develop their career and support them where appropriate.
