Covent Garden & Strand Area Holiday Reviews

Somerset House, Covent Garden & Strand Area

Choosing hotels in Covent Garden & the Strand is an exciting task! As one of London’s premier entertainment areas, Covent Garden and the Strand combine vibrant street entertainment with exclusive designer stores. Visitors can discover the colourful markets and unique boutiques, as well as enjoying a refreshing drink or two in one of the many cosmopolitan street-side bars and cafes.

Whilst staying in a Covent Garden or Strand hotel, be sure to take a trip to one of the nearby London landmarks or fascinating museums.

  • The British Museum is located just minutes from Covent Garden offering you the chance to discover 2 million years of human history all housed under one roof.
  • The National Gallery sits on the edge of Covent Garden and is home to masterpieces by some of the world’s greatest artists including Da Vinci and Michelangelo.
  • The London Transport Museum takes you on a journey through the capital’s history of transport from the 19th century right up to the present day.
If that’s not enough culture for you, then why not enjoy an evening performance at the prestigious Royal Albert Hall or head out to a nearby theatre to see a West End show?

Mini break in London

Stay Date: 29/03/16, a customer aged 45-64 from Glyn Ceiriog who stayed at 4* Radisson Blu Edwardian, Mercer Street in Covent Garden wrote this review.

We spent 3 nights at the Radisson Blu Edwardian Mercer Street - a lovely hotel 5 minutes walk from Covent Garden, Leicester Square and 10 minutes away from Oxford Street. The hotel was beautifully See More  Read more information appointed - our room was a 'cosy double' which was more than big enough for two with flat screen TV, iron, safe, tea/coffee making facilities and luxurious bathroom (shower). Breakfast was included andthere was plenty of choice with cereal, yoghurts, pastries, cold meats plus a full 'English' and other hot options. Our room didn't have a view, it overlooked other buildings and the dining room ofanother establishment but did not negatively impact on our stay as we weren't bothered by noise at all. We walked for miles taking in various sites such as the London Eye, the Tower of London, plus agreat walk of 'Hidden London' led by London Walks which we highly recommend. The Flat Iron restaurant on Denmark Street was also another contender for a return visit. The Painkiller at The GarrickTheatre was very entertaining!   Collapse  Hide

Give it a miss

Stay Date: 19/03/16, a customer aged 65+ from United Kingdom who stayed at 3* Travelodge London Covent Garden in Covent Garden wrote this review.

Excellent location, pity about the facilities. The room is very basic, no drawers, no wardrobe. Booking in costs £10 before 3pm. The breakfast was a disgrace. Bacon was a solid block, burnt on the See More  Read more information outside, raw in the middle. No fried eggs, even when asked for. In fact the senior person in charge was very offhand, with a take it or leave it shrug of the shoulders. Later she was telling off theonly girl that was working, while she stood around doing nothing. The following morning the breakfast was just the same. Find a decent hotel.   Collapse  Hide
