Visiting Cork

Stay Date: 11/05/07, a customer from Nottinghamshire who stayed at 4* Rochestown Park Hotel in Cork wrote this review.

The hotel offered by Superbreak was wonderful at an extremely reasonable price. Cork is a much slower place than our previous visits to Dublin, for a base to explore the surrounding areas rather See More  Read more information than a total holiday I would like to highly recommend the Rochestown Park Hotel to anyone visiting the Cork (Douglas area). Cork is about a 4km walk from the hotel.   Collapse  Hide

Two Days in Cork

Stay Date: 25/07/07, a customer who stayed at 5* Hayfield Manor Hotel in Cork wrote this review.

My husband and I had just spent four days in Killarney and had taken a long and scenic route to Cork where we stayed at the Hafield Manor hotel for two nights. The hotel was excellent in every way See More  Read more information and just how we imagined it . We took advantage of the swimming pool on the evening we arrived and had it to ourselves. The only remark I would make about the hotel is it's position. It is right inthe middle of student land being right next to the University. My husband and I did not feel over safe with the surroundings and did not venture out walking at night - something we were happy to do inKillarney. We are not an elderly couple and we may possibly have over re-acted but it was a strange place for a five star hotel to be. We were un-impressed with Cork itself but found plenty to do in thetime we were there.   Collapse  Hide

Short Visit to Cork

Stay Date: 27/03/08, a customer who stayed at 4* Ambassador Hotel & Health Club in Cork wrote this review.

Ambassador hotel had friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast included in deal, and well worth having in the package as it's pretty expensive to eat out anywhere. The restaurants visited included See More  Read more information Greens in the town centre, part of a converted warehouse, this place is highly recommended - Excellent food & service. Castelli's Italian Restaurant in the centre was also good for a more straightforwarditalian meal. Trised out the city bus tour which was OK, there didn't appear to be too much great sights to see, and spent a lot of time just stuck in traffic. Best have a quick walk around beforehitting the pubs. The English Market food hall was a good stop for a coffee & picking up a fine cheese & wine selection for mid afternoon snacks. No shortage of pubs around town. Take a brolly & lots ofmoney. Some walking boots if you are staying at the ambassador - it's fine on the way down to town, but a bit harder work on the way back up after a few refreshments.   Collapse  Hide
