The Channel Islands are a group of islands off the coast of Normandy in the English Channel. The islands are popular for outdoor activities with a warm climate and a natural beauty. Jersey is the most Southerly island and Guernsey is a good base for visiting the smaller islands.

A great few days

We went to Jersey because we had been on honeymoon there 38 years ago and had not been back. The hotel, flight and weather were great and would recommend it to anybody.

Birthday Break

We visited Jersey for our neice's 21st birthday. We usually stay with our relatives but as my parents-in-law also were over we had to use a hotel. The Beachcombers was a good hotel to use - very clean and the staff were excellent. We only had breakfast there but it was very good.

We found the hotel to be excellent value for money. The rooms were a good size, well decorated.The pool was a nice extra and the gym looked well equipped. The breakfast was also very good. The only two downsides I have with the hotel were; one, the shower was only a dribble and you didn't really feel clean afterwards as there was no power in the water. Secondly, was the evening meal sittings, 6.30pm or 7.30pm is too early for dinner, why not have an open option or at least 8pm for adults who want to enjoy the evening more. But having said that I would stay there again.

This is a system of tunnels and bunkers built by the German occupiers at Normont point. They have been experttly dug out and restored by volunteers of the Channel Islands Occupation Society Excellent tour, enthusiastic voluatary effort to get it back to as oit was in the 1940's. worth a visit.
