The Channel Islands are a group of islands off the coast of Normandy in the English Channel. The islands are popular for outdoor activities with a warm climate and a natural beauty. Jersey is the most Southerly island and Guernsey is a good base for visiting the smaller islands.

A Sizzelling Week in Jersey

A customer from South Yorkshire who stayed at 2* Fort D'Auvergne Hotel in St Helier - Jersey wrote this review.

We swam every day in the Hotel pool, sunbathed on various beaches, used the excellent local bus service to get around the island, shopped in St Hellier (we love the local charity shops and Market) socialised with people in in the Hotel in the bar area and did some walking.

Very Pleasant and Relaxing 3 nights Stay

A customer who stayed at 3* Hampshire Hotel in St Helier - Jersey wrote this review.

Very pleasant and relaxing 3 nights stay at the Hampshire Hotel 28th April 2008. Stayed in a Premier double room (booked through Superbreak as Deluxe room) on the ground floor behind reception. It was very nice and very clean, but a bit on the small side. OK for 3 nights. Good size bathroom, no bath but a good shower. Probably not worth paying extra for a Premier room. Could hear people in other rooms at times but slept well. Reception, bar and dinning area all very smart. Breakfast was excellent. Town centre about 15 minutes walk away. Found St Helier being the island capital was a bit big and nowhere near as attractive as the smaller resorts. Lots of Bistros and Italian restaurants but only a few pubs serving bar meals (mainly lunch time not evening). Very quite on a night, few people in restaurants but bars empty. We were midweek and out of season! Car hire pre-booked with Europcar for collection from airport. Service very efficient, but you will be provided with and charged for ? tank of petrol. Only used ? tank during our stay. We felt car was essential for a short stay to make the most of your time on the island. Small car (Ka) is more than adequate as the island is only 9 miles by 5 miles with maximum speed limit of 40mph. St Helier one-way system can be a bit of a nightmare. Weather. During our stay the weather was poor, rain, windy and a little sun. Would recommend to others the Hampshire Hotel and Jersey for a short break.
