Good Morning at Train Station
A customer from Kessingland who stayed at 2* Old Brewery House Hotel (2 Night Offer & 1st Night Dinner) in Reepham wrote this review.
Stay Date: 13/04/13
Overall Hotel Rating:
out of 5The hotel is very tired and in need of a complete refurbishment. Our en-suite was the worst i have ever seen the staff were excellent. The evening meals were very good shame about the hotel. Lovely walk to the old train station about a mile away - had a ride on the old train. A gathering of motorbikers with lots old vintage bikes was a good morning out.
Dog Friendly Norfolk

out of 5Kids off-loaded to my sister leaving me and my wife with the dog and nothing to do but relax. We arrived at The Old Brewery House at 6 pm. Settled in quickly and enjoyed a lovely evening drinking good beer and wine in a friendly atmosphere. The evening meal was included; great value and good enough that we chose to eat there on our second night too. On Saturday, after a very well presented full English breakfast we had a lovely walk around Felbrigg Hall and along the beach at West Runton. Back to Reepham to enjoy local beer in front of a log fire at the dog friendly Kings Arms. Our second evening was as relaxing as the first and the food just as good. Our stay was relaxing and comfortable and amaziing value. We'll be visiting again soon I hope; maybe with the kids next time.

Reepham - A Village to Enjoy
A customer from GREAT YARMOUTH who stayed at 2* Old Brewery House Hotel (2 Night Offer & 1st Night Dinner) in Reepham wrote this review.
Stay Date: 02/11/12
Overall Hotel Rating:
out of 5My friend joined me in Norfolk, via Norwich station. we then explored Norwich lanes with my grandchildren using a guIded walk pack from tourist information centre at the FORUM. Evening went to hotel in Reepham. Comfortable accomodation , good food. Ist night's dinner included in price. Hotel clean but could do with some attention to paintwork in parts. But in centre of Reepham and surrounded by a very good range of shops and welcoming locals. 2nd day went to Blickling Hall one time home of Anne Boleyn enjoyed tour of house and then joined by family and explored grounds and museum. 2nd night dinner in hotel again good but not such a varied menu as first night. Disappointed unable to use swimming pool as did not open till mid morning when we usually swim before breakfast, as use the days to explore surroundings .Next day spent at Wroxham Barns exploring the retail outlets and lunching before going into Wroxham itself for retail therepy at Roys. Would have explored the Broad but a very wet day. Then back to Norwich station for my friend to return home.
A Short Break in Norfolk
A customer from WISBECH who stayed at 2* Old Brewery House Hotel (2 Night Offer & 1st Night Dinner) in Reepham wrote this review.
Stay Date: 23/10/12
Overall Hotel Rating:
out of 5Prior to staying at the Old Brewery house we read reviews which were disparaging so we were a little apprehensive. In general our fears were unfounded. Apart from the restaurant and conservatory the common rooms need some tlc:-fresh paint, new furniture etc. The building has character which comes from age with many interesting pictures and artefacts which must be retained. It has considerable potential. The staff were very cheerful and helpful despite working in such a gloomy environment. Our room was excellent:- large with bathroom and dressing room, comfortable four poster bed, nice wallpaper and soft furnishings, bathroom could do with a revamp and some fresh paint would brighten the room. The leisure centre was very tired and needs a complete makeover and clean especially the toilets. Again the potential is there as it has a gym, pool, squash courts, table- tennis, sauna and a relaxation area with refreshments. The hotel is in the centre of Reepham a small market town with many interesting buildings (very unusual churches- two joined together with seperate towers, nave etc) and quaint shops. Norwich is only fifteen miles and the North Norfolk Coast is not much further. The old railway which passed through the village is now a long distance footpath and cycleway (I believe bicycles can be hired) and the station is now tearooms and a pine furniture centre. We booked the two night Superbreak with dinner on the first night and are of the opinion that it was excellent value.

out of 5Pontins holiday at Pakefield was enjoyable although the entertainment was average as the resort was taken over by an Organ convention which we were unaware when making the booking with Superbreak. The food was good and position of the resort was good as Yarnmouth , Lowestoft and other resorts were easy to reach by public transport.

Weekend In Norfolk
A customer who stayed at 2* Old Brewery House Hotel (2 Night Offer & 1st Night Dinner) in Reepham wrote this review.
Stay Date: 26/02/12
Overall Hotel Rating:
out of 5The staff at the old brewery house were superb and made the weekend. The first night's dinner was included in the price and, according to the Superbreak website was a fixed menu. In fact the hotel told us that there was a fixed allowance per head which gave us access to the whole a la carte menu, only having to pay for any difference between the allowance and the total bill for the meal. Brilliant idea. The only criticism i have is that, while the room was clean and well decorated, the bathroom was in serious need of refurbishment.

out of 5Found this little gem on Superbreak. Lovely Norfolk village and a great hotel. Behind the scenes could do with a bit of a spruce up but this did not detract from the overall experience. A picturesque hotel, staff were great, and the food was outstanding, we ate there both nights. This stay was value with a capital "v".

A customer from UK who stayed at 2* Old Brewery House Hotel (2 Night Offer & 1st Night Dinner) in Reepham wrote this review.
Stay Date: 04/07/11
Overall Hotel Rating:
out of 5The village of reepham is quiet and ideally situated for days out exploring norfolk. The brewery house hotel is easy to find and the staff were welcoming and friendly. We ate in the hotel on both nights of our stay and although the menu was not very adventurous i suspect this represents the taste of the average guest. The food was well prepared and excellently presented. The room was large and showed a high standard of cleanliness but the building itself would benefit greatly from an injection of cash from oxford hotels and inns just to spruce up the rooms, public areas and garden. Although the room was at the front of the building and the windows faced the village square, it was quiet outside after 10.30pm and there was almost no sound from the adjoining room. Altogether a very good stay for the price, but a slightly higher price for a better kept building would have been preferable.

Stay Date: 17/05/11
Overall Hotel Rating:
out of 5Reepham is really pretty little place and we enjoyed staying at the old brewery house hotel. The staff were very helpful and courteous, the food very good but the hotel itself is very rundown and needs complete refurbishment - it would greatly motivate the staff. A beautiful but neglected building. The bed was really uncomfortable. We love norfolk and the people and we enjoyed visiting the towns mentioned and learning some of the history of each. Also the lovely countryside walks.

Stay Date: 25/04/11
Overall Hotel Rating:
out of 5Food was excellent but the building could do with pulling down and starting again because all the fitments need replacing, cleaning or painting, the heating was on full bore on a lovely warm bank holiday weekend and probably no one knew how it worked or it needed to be on for other reasons, toilet seat a disgrace, the shower in one of our rooms was missing, we think the builders were in until late the night before trying to get the room habitable.

out of 5Dinner on the first night was so good we ate there again on the second night. The prices were very competative. The cold selection for breakfast was very good but the cooked breakfast was average. Entertainment in the bar on the first night was very good our stay overall was fantastic. The hotel need a bit of updating but that does not detract from its charm. It was very clean and warm. There was plenty of hot water for a bath.

out of 5Even though Superbreak hadn't passed the details to the hotel, after the initial "oh no" from us, the hotel found us a room. It was right out the back so nowhere near the noisy market place that others have mentioned. Unfortunately the pool was out of action due to staffing issues which was a huge disappointment, but we made the best of the weekend. Staff were very friendly and obliging. Food was amazing. The evening meal we had with the deal was so good we chose to eat there the second night. Would do it all again and hopefully make use of the pool next time.

out of 5Nineteen of us arrived on the friday evening. All rooms were clean and well presented. Some had 4 poster beds. The food in the restaurant was very good and we had free choice of anything on the menu included in the bargain break price. We were able to have a large table set up in the conservatory for us all to eat together for the whole weekend. It was like having our own private function room. There was entertainment in the bar area on both friday and saturday evenings which made it very party-like for us. Even our dogs were able to stretch out in front of the open fire. The staff were tremendous and provided us with excellent service and smiling faces. We have all expressed that we would like to go there again later in the year. Certainly a most memorable 60th birthday. I loved it.

out of 5After reading other peoples reviews we regreted booking this hotel, however when we arrived we needn't have worried, the staff each and everyone of them were cheerful, helpful, and couldn't do enough for us. The resturant/bar food was excellent, the bedrooms although dated were comfortable, warm and clean all in all a great choice of hotel. It dates from the 1700 so has old world charm, with its swimming pool, gym etc who could ask for more, a quaint hotel in a great situation. We had a room overlooking the pond which was lovely to wake up to in the mornings, also while we were there they had a craft fair going on which was an added bonus. We enjoyed our 4 night stay so much we have already decided we will be going again in the summer (cannot wait). The town of Reepem has some lovely little shops and there are also nice walks with the seaside (great Yarmouth, Hunstanton, Sheringham etc) & Norwich on the doorstep. Give it ago bet you wont regret it, fantastic place to stay with lots to do.

out of 5We stayed here to visit a few haunts that we last visited over 10 years ago and wwere not dissapointed with our break. We chose this hotel as it was near Alby crafts and accessable to Cromer and not too far from the east of the county (Yamouth), Norwich, the broads or the far north. The hotel offered a superb meal on the first night (and would have I am sure on the second had we not decided to have local fish and chips) and superb breakfast. The bed was comfortable, a bit on the hard side which suited me, the decor (as in common with a lot of hotels) could do with a bit of tlc, but the telly worked, the water was hot, the room was warm and there was tea and coffee. Nothing really to complain about and would definately consider staying in the georgian hotel again.
An Enjoyable Weekend

out of 5We were greeted on arrival and my currently less-than-100% able wife was shown a choice of rooms. She chose one in the character-packed older part of the building, ample in size with a fully-equipped bathroom. As will become apparent, this might not have been the best choice. Our package included dinner and on the Friday evening we enjoyed the best rump steaks that we've had in Britain for many a long year, and this on the table d'hôte menu. On the second evening we had pan-fried salmon steaks with oriental-style stir-fry vegetables. The wine list is small but adequate and the wines are sensibly priced. Breakfasts follow the usual pattern of buffet cereals, pastries, etc., with served cooked items on demand. Everything we ate there was of good quality and enjoyable. There are plenty of bar areas with ample seating and real ales from greene king are kept in good condition. If there was a downside, it is that the hotel terrace below our room attracts a (very) young clientele who become quite vocal as the evening wears on. With the bar closing at 1:00am it is difficult to sleep in the single-glazed room much before 1:30am. To be fair, as soon as the staff were aware of the problem on the second evening, they took steps to clear the area but their other duties meant that they couldn't be forever on watch and the revellers crept back time and again. Unless a firmer line can be taken with outside noise the answer appears to be to install secondary glazing to the front rooms. We were very impressed with the staff's service and friendliness throughout our stay. We recommend the hotel, a good base for visiting the many attractions of mid and north Norfolk.

Our first night we had excellent meal and staff were faultless. Very charming. Had very loud snorer in next bedroom who was louder than our tv. Don't think we had anyone in there 2nd night else they were quieter. The breakfast was outstanding. My husband had a cooked breakfast I had cereals etc. Have never been in hotel with such extensive choice 10/10 all in all good price for good couple of days.

out of 5Reepham provided us with an ideal base for a two night stay. The small market town was quaint and the hotel sat in the middle of the main square. We made full use of the leisure activities at the hotel and went swimming and my husband used the gym. We had two lovely meals in the hotel, one in the restaurant and one in the bar area. Both were excellent. We took a leisurely drive to Cromer, taking in the sights, museums and sea air and found a lovely little cafe serving delicious scones and toasted sandwiches! The lifeboat museum is a must and very informative. We took the opportunity to explore the shopping delights of Norwich, including both malls and also walked around the perimeter of Norwich castle, which was most impressive. A most enjoyable stay indeed!.

out of 5The small town of Reepham is excellent. We found the shops and people in the town very friendly, a place we would definately return to. The Hotel was a little run down and most definately in need of renavation. The room was ver well used and dissapointing, not worth the money paid. The food on the other hand was very good but we were not allowed to eat in the conservatory on the first evening due to a meeting! The staff were veery good but very overworked, running the bar, reception and general hotel alone on some occasions. The swimming pool was out of order, the pool being one of the reasons to book this hotel. Overall not a hotel we would return to or recommend to friends, and certainly not worth the money we paid. Reepham was on the other hand great.
