Cape Verde is an archipelago of ten islands off the coast of West Africa. The islands offer long beaches of endless white sand, the historical mystery of colonial style towns and a variety of landscapes from dramatic volcanic to lush and verdant. A pleasant year round climate is another attraction.

Sal is very flat & lots of sand dunes. Not many places of interest. Tam Tam's bar in Santa Maria is run by a great Irish couple who are very helpful & obliging. Relax is a nice clean restaurant. They will also make snacks etc for you with good prices. We returned to the UK with a stomach bug therefore it is advisable to ensure you know where your food is prepared is clean. We were advised stomach bugs are common place. We visited the islands of Sau Vincente & Santo Antao. It was on one of these islands we became ill. There were lots of flies in the cafes we visited, therefore be aware and careful of the hygiene standards.
