London Short Break

Stay Date: 18/04/13, a customer aged 65+ from Bathgate who stayed at 3* Bedford Hotel in Russell Square wrote this review.

As a group of 4 adults, some of whom had not been to London for some time, the initial step was to take a walk from the hotel in Southampton Row down to the Embankment, from where you can see many See More  Read more information of the principal attractions. From there to Trafalgar Square and then back to the hotel via Covent Garden. Day 2 was centred on visits to British Museum, Natural History Museum and V & A Museum. On Day3 (Saturday) we visited Westminster Abbey and the festival in Trafalgar Square plus shopping - Harrods etc. On Day 4 prior to departure we walked round to see the set up for the London Marathon. Muchto see and not possible to cover everything in a short break but we thoroughly enjoyed the break. A return for further exploration is planned.   Collapse  Hide

London City Break

Stay Date: 20/04/13, a customer aged 25-44 from Wrexham who stayed at 3* Royal National Hotel in Russell Square wrote this review.

We had never stayed at the Royal British Hotel before and were a bit daunted as to what to expect as it was so large, whether this would affect the service there but it didn't. The room was nice, See More  Read more information the breakfast was good & the staff friendly. The location was excellent too for the underground at Euston or Russell Square. We found the underground really easy to use with our Oyster cards & signs onstations/platforms. The Marquess of Anglesey a two min walk from Covent Garden is a great pub to eat at and has offers.   Collapse  Hide

Our April Trip to London

Stay Date: 19/04/13, a customer aged 45-64 who stayed at 3* Tavistock Hotel in Russell Square wrote this review.

We usually stay in the Royal National Hotel when we come to London in April but this year as it was fully booked we stayed in the sister hotel The Tavistock and really enjoyed the fact that it was See More  Read more information very reasonably priced but much smaller and quieter. Our room had a lovely view of Tavistock Square and the BT Tower and only minutes walk from Covent Garden. We had tickets for the David Bowieexhibition at the V&A and it was fantastic. Excellent Weekend in London

Stay Date: 04/05/13, a customer aged 45-64 from Birmingham who stayed at 4* Montague On The Gardens in Bloomsbury wrote this review.

A short break to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The hotel was great - couldn't have asked for a better location and the staff very friendly and helpful. Our room was lovely (if a tad on the See More  Read more information small side) and the breakfast was first class. The show - The Jersey Boys - was fantastic and our seats, booked through Superbreak - were excellent. We did lots of sight seeing and, in all, had a fabulousbreak.   Collapse  Hide

Weekend in London

Stay Date: 04/05/13, a customer aged 25-44 who stayed at 3* President Hotel in Russell Square wrote this review.

The hotel was lovely, friendly staff, great food. Its best to walk to places you see more, but if you do get tired the black cabs are not very expensive, buses are a nightmare to work out so best to See More  Read more information avoid them. The London Eye is definitely a must, same with the Sea Life Centre, but if you go into the London Dungeons leave it till last you get soaked and there's no where to dry your clothes. TheHarry Potter Warner Brothers studio tour is amazing so if your a fan this is a must see, and its not that hard to get to. The gift shop is very expensive so make sure you take lots of spending money, there is a picnic area so you can take your own lunch.   Collapse  Hide

Close to the Stars in London

Stay Date: 02/05/13, a customer aged 45-64 from Alston who stayed at 3* Royal National Hotel in Russell Square wrote this review.

Watching from the sidelines at the premiere event of Star Trek into Darkness was fantastic. Seeing the preparation and waiting patiently for the stars to arrive - Benedict Cumberbatch and Chris Pine See More  Read more information especially, and close enough to touch them! After a short "run" to see Les Miserables, then the next to the wonderful world of Hogwarts and Harry Potter. Amazing to find out how some of the effectswere done and the detail and number of people involved with the films was unbelievable. The Royal National Hotel was situated so close to the underground that getting around was made so easy with agood map and the use of an Oyster Card which allowed to top up at machines rather than standing in queues for tickets. The weather was wonderful - a real bonus.   Collapse  Hide
