Having seen opera at The Royal Albert Hall before, I knew that it would be an enjoyable evening. However it surpassed my wildest expectations. A Royal Experience

The highlight was hearing the music of Queen and seeing the excellent musical We Will Rock You. It was the best theatre experience ever. We were still rocking on the way back to the hotel. The See More  Read more information weather was kind and we went to walk in Green Park and encountered the State visit of the president of Ghana, complete with 41 gun salute, followed by a procession of the Royal Family and dignitaries,complete with the mounted guards of the blues and royals. This was a wonderful spectacle, well worth remembering. We spent a lot of quality time,socializing with old friends and acquaintances from thepast, and looking up old haunts, such as the Museum Tavern opposite the National Museum and the Phoenix in Palace St., Victoria as well as experiencing some new namely the Artista Italian restaurantin Charlotte St., where the food was very enjoyable and service was friendly and attentive.   Collapse  Hide

Only short time to spend on this break arriving Friday lunch-time and leaving Saturday evening but made the most of the time. Birthday Weekend in London

Arrived on the Friday afternoon with a tentative plan of activities using data from The Good Pub Guide, The Good Beer Guide and The Good Food Guide. Lunch planned at Ikkyu Japanese but it was See More  Read more information closed. Fall back was The Perseverance but the kitchen was closed for refurb. Ate at The Lamb - reasonable. That night we went to the Fino restaurant- expensive,small helpings and pretentious. Sat boughttwo tube day tickets (excellent value) and went to the Science Museum, Italian restaurant on Gloucester Rd, Harrods then back to the hotel and onto the Lion King and then a meal at Christopher's. Great Day Out In London!

By pre-booking a bus tour we travelled around London seeing all the main attrations from Buckingham Palace to Big Ben, the London Eye and even a ride across the Thames. We also visited London Zoo, See More  Read more information an excellent place for anyone. The place was nice and kept well, and the staff were friendly. For our evening meal we ate at Giraffe, a very friends restuarant, with excellent meals, and they evendid Smoothies.
