Great London City Break

Stay Date: 18/11/14, a customer aged 65+ from Crawley who stayed at 3* Tavistock Hotel in Russell Square wrote this review.

Never stayed in the Russell Square area before but It was easy to access by bus or tube & the Tavistock Hotel was quite adequate for our purpose. They provided a good full English buffet breakfast See More  Read more information each morning & we were given a card entitling us to a three course meal on the first night at any one of five different restaurants, one in each of the group hotels around Russell Square. We chose theCarvery at the President Hotel & that proved to be a good choice as the entire meal was of first class quality. An excellent two day break with the help of SuperBreak.   Collapse  Hide

Stay Date: 18/11/14, a customer aged 45-64 from Kettering who stayed at 3* Tavistock Hotel in Russell Square wrote this review.

We just had a short stay in London in order to visit a couple of exhibitions and found the Tavistock perfectly adequate, very convenient location in a pleasant area with plenty of restaurants and See More  Read more information pubs in the vicinity. The hotel interior has seen better days, but we didn't mind, as it was for one night only and reasonably priced.   Collapse  Hide

Disappointing Hotel but Great Days out in London

Stay Date: 15/11/14, a customer aged 45-64 from Doncaster who stayed at 3* Royal National Hotel in Russell Square wrote this review.

The hotel rooms need a serious refurbishment, they were tired and shabby and the windows let in the noise and cold. London short break

Stay Date: 15/11/14, a customer aged 45-64 from Burntisland who stayed at 3* President Hotel in Russell Square wrote this review.

President Hotel was in an excellent location in Bloomsbury, within walking distance of the West End. Travelled by bus rather than tube whenever possible, and found this much more enjoyable. Weekend Break

Stay Date: 14/11/14, a customer aged 45-64 who stayed at 3* Imperial Hotel London in Russell Square wrote this review.

Birthday weekend. Stayed at the Imperial Hotel Russell Square. Hotel nicely situated and we could walk without getting lost. The hotel is adequate, however the queues for breakfast were incredibly See More  Read more information long made worse by one of the hot plates being out of action on the Sunday. Toast on a hot steam plate really isn't a pleasant experience. The room was clean and large (executive suite) and we had ahis and hers sink, which was great. Could not find how to turn the heating down and if you opened the windows there was a likelihood of noise from the casino, although we never heard a thing. The bedwas comfortable and interesting. It was on wheels and we did find ourselves travelling across the carpet. The hotel was easy to find if you did not take the first left out of the station. The bonus of a3 course evening meal on the first night was disappointing. If this is going to be offered perhaps a bit more care needs to go into the meal. It really felt like it was sitting waiting to be servedrather than cooked and served to order. The hotel does what it says on the tin. A reasonably low cost hotel with no frills.   Collapse  Hide

Stay at the Russell next time

Stay Date: 14/11/14, a customer aged 65+ from Huddersfield who stayed at 3* Bedford Hotel in Russell Square wrote this review.

The staff were in the main disinterested. The towels were small and paper thin. Both the hot and cold taps at the basin leaked to the point of distraction. The room was noisy from the street traffic See More  Read more information and the bed too short for a tall person. The food was mediocre, synthetic tasting and poor quality. No biscuits in the room at all and the daily allocation of milk carton reduced every day! The hotelwas reasonably conveniently sited and the car parking facility useful. The carpets were very poorly vacuumed with fluff clearly visible within and out with the room. All in all the manager needs toexert himself and metaphorically whip the whole unit into shape.   Collapse  Hide
