Break to Dublin

Stay Date: 17/02/13

Overall Hotel Rating:

5 out of 5

My Husband and I went to Dublin as a Valentine's getaway and we loved the place. The hotel we stayed in called the Beresford Hotel was located a walk from the shops and Temple Bar but not too far that you would need a taxi. The hotel was excellent and the breakfast was everything you could want. The airport bus drops off outside and picks up outside so no need to walk too far with your luggage. We would recommend Dublin for a break if you want to relax and the pubs and restaurants are all really nice. If you want lively pubs with live Irish music you can choose bars like that and if you prefer quieter places you can find those too. The Celt and O' Sheas bars are just round the corner from the hotel and they serve fantastic food with great staff always on hand. These pubs are quieter as no music till late. Temple bar is the place to go for music and great bars. We are looking to book and go again later in the year and we will stay at the same hotel.

Dublin's Fair City

A customer  who stayed at this hotel wrote this review.

Stay Date: 05/09/12

Overall Hotel Rating:

4 out of 5

Dublin City is an amazing place, the history, the architecture and of course Molly Malone, the people are charming, hospitable, they couldn't do enough for youWe took the Green dublin bus, the live commentary on the tour bus was very entertaining, Your ticket was valid for two days giving you the freedom to hop on and off so enabling to take your time at all the attractions. I recommend you get to Kilmainham Gael early as the tours (1 hour)get very full very quickly. The best part of the tour was listening to the commentary of the wonderfully knowledgeable/funny bus drivers. The Arlington Hotel's live music and dancing session is well worth a visit. All in all the best few days I have had in a very long time.

Visited city to attend roger waters concert, coincided with barack obamas visit so there were some problems in moving around however we had a lovely time. City small and friendly with lots to see and do. Hotel was perfect as it was so central. Airport bus stopped directly opposite. Would love to return.

Short Break In Dublin

From a tourist perspective, you need to take care where you venture after dark. Temple bar and trinity college area are ok but 100 metres away from the hotel (which is opposite a police station), the o'connell street vicinity is inhabited by less amiable folk.
