Belgium Holiday Reviews

Manneken Pis, Brussels, Belgium

Belgium is renowned for its luxurious chocolate, unique beer, world-class art and fairytale castles. Enjoy a romantic canal cruise in Bruges or shop in Antwerp's exquisite diamond boutiques. Brussels offers diverse architectural styles and atmospheric nightlife in the stylish Art Nouveau grand cafes.

As well as flights, Belgium is well connected via the Eurostar network with direct trains from London to Brussels. From Brussels you can travel onwards to Bruges, Ghent and Ostend using local rail services. You can also travel to Belgium via P and O ferries with daily sailings from Hull to Zeebrugge.

  • Brussels is Belgium's largest city and also the capital but still retains a small town charm and a cosmopolitan atmosphere thanks to its mix of French and Flemish cultures. Don't miss the world-famous Mannekin Pis, the futuristic Atomium and the Royal Museums of Fine Arts.
  • Bruges also known as "the Venice of the North" is an historic and picturesque town close to the North Sea coast. Famous as a centre for trade and commerce during the Middle Ages, Bruges boasts magnificent medieval buildings such as the Church of our Lady who's tower gives incredible views across the town and beyond.
  • Antwerp is world-renowned for its trade in diamonds. Be sure to visit the Diamond Quarter which is a short walk from the city's main shopping streets. Antwerp is also famous as a centre of the arts with paintings by artists such as Rubens and van Dyck displayed in historic buildings and museums around the city.
Whether you choose to visit Brussels, Bruges or Antwerp or other Belgian towns such as Liege, Namur or Ostend; we're sure you'll love a SuperBreak to Belgium.

Our First Holiday

Stay Date: 05/08/06, a customer who stayed at 4* Leopold Hotel Brussels in Brussels wrote this review.

Brussels was our first holiday together and it was a great place to explore, we walked miles looking at all the beautiful old buildings. It was lovely stopping at cafes and the waffles were out of See More  Read more information this world! It was a very relaxing place to visit. We visited the Atomium that just blew us away, it was truly amazing. The video showing it being constructed was fantastic - bolts being tightened byhand! The lift was stomach lurching, 5 metres per seccond. Getting around Brussels was extremely easy, we used the metro alot which was easy to understand and no problems at all.   Collapse  Hide

Christmas in Ypres

Stay Date: 08/12/06, a customer who stayed at 4* Novotel Ypres Non Refundable in Ypres wrote this review.

The Menin Gate Memorial and Last Post ceremony performed every night at 8pm are worth the trip on their own but this is a very pretty area anyway. 2006 was the first year of the Christmas market in See More  Read more information Ypres and, although small, compensates with the pretty setting, outdoor ice skating rink and friendly people. The history of the area is readily accessible and the numerous Commonwealth War Gravesites nearby can virtually be reached on foot. The "In Flanders Fields" Museum is excellent and most businesses cater very well for English speakers.   Collapse  Hide
