Belgium Holiday Reviews

Manneken Pis, Brussels, Belgium

Belgium is renowned for its luxurious chocolate, unique beer, world-class art and fairytale castles. Enjoy a romantic canal cruise in Bruges or shop in Antwerp's exquisite diamond boutiques. Brussels offers diverse architectural styles and atmospheric nightlife in the stylish Art Nouveau grand cafes.

As well as flights, Belgium is well connected via the Eurostar network with direct trains from London to Brussels. From Brussels you can travel onwards to Bruges, Ghent and Ostend using local rail services. You can also travel to Belgium via P and O ferries with daily sailings from Hull to Zeebrugge.

  • Brussels is Belgium's largest city and also the capital but still retains a small town charm and a cosmopolitan atmosphere thanks to its mix of French and Flemish cultures. Don't miss the world-famous Mannekin Pis, the futuristic Atomium and the Royal Museums of Fine Arts.
  • Bruges also known as "the Venice of the North" is an historic and picturesque town close to the North Sea coast. Famous as a centre for trade and commerce during the Middle Ages, Bruges boasts magnificent medieval buildings such as the Church of our Lady who's tower gives incredible views across the town and beyond.
  • Antwerp is world-renowned for its trade in diamonds. Be sure to visit the Diamond Quarter which is a short walk from the city's main shopping streets. Antwerp is also famous as a centre of the arts with paintings by artists such as Rubens and van Dyck displayed in historic buildings and museums around the city.
Whether you choose to visit Brussels, Bruges or Antwerp or other Belgian towns such as Liege, Namur or Ostend; we're sure you'll love a SuperBreak to Belgium.

Friendly, Well Located Hotel Offering Good Value

Stay Date: 06/03/11, a customer who stayed at 4* Novotel Ypres Non Refundable in Ypres wrote this review.

My partner and i stayed here for 2 nights to visit the ww1 battlefields, cemetaries and monuments. The hotel is very centrally situated and is literally a 2 minute walk from the menin gate and See More  Read more information market square. It has a very good underground car park with a lift directly to the reception or to your floor for the reasonable cost of 11 euro for each 24hr period. All of the staff we came into contactwith spoke good english and were very friendly and helpful. The room was of a very good size with a comfortable king size bed along with a decent sized sofa which would convert into a bed. The toiletwas separate to the bath/shower room, which is a useful facility. The room was in good repair and offered free tea and coffee facilities, minibar, tv with the main english channels and ample storagespace. The buffet breakfast is absolutely excellent with a very wide range of food and drink available including a decent full cooked breakfast. We'll certainly be looking to stay again when we visitypres in the future.   Collapse  Hide

Great Short Break In Bruges

Stay Date: 21/07/11, a customer from Uk who stayed at 3* Hotel T Putje in Bruges wrote this review.

We spent 3 nights in bruges at the T Putje hotel and had a very comfortable stay. Very modern hotel with automatic lighting and air conditioning - one of our party even had their own terrace to sit See More  Read more information out. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful and even checked the internet for the weather forecast for us! Breakfast was good with a wide selection of hot and cold buffet, not much luckwith the toaster but the fresh bread was much better than toast. Many restaurants to choose from around the corner but it if you are on a budget like we were, it is worth going farther afield andexploring the little side streets for a good inexpensive meal. Sint amandsstraat off the main belfry square has a number of good cheap restaurants including the chicken - in where we had a very good meal.Another great find was the gran kaffee de passage on dweerstraat which does great belgian dishes as well as more familiar pasta etc for less than a tenner a head. Had a great day out on the train toostend and it only took ten minutes to get there, would also recommend the chocolate museum although it has a lot of stairs, there are lifts and plenty of seating but it describes the whole process ofchocolate making and you get to watch a demonstration and taste the results! All in all a great visit and a very comfortable hotel in a good location next to the bus station. Will definitely be stayinghere again.   Collapse  Hide

In Bruges

Stay Date: 21/02/12, a customer from Uk who stayed at 4* De Tuilerieen Hotel in Bruges wrote this review.

Hotel in an excellent central location - just off the main square but in a quiet street. Front rooms overlook the canal. Hotel staff were extremely friendly. I would recommend this hotel to family See More  Read more information and friends. I recommend a short break to bruges and going out of season like we did during february avoids the crowds and you get a great deal for your money. Make sure you pack sensible shoes, there's a lot of exploring by foot to do and all that walking means you can eat more chocolate - did i mention the chocolate fountain at breakfast! and the homemade chocolate spread! you won't bedisappointed.   Collapse  Hide

Well Situated Hotel

Stay Date: 26/02/12, a customer from Uk who stayed at 4* Leopold Hotel Brussels (Executive Rooms - Special Rate) in Brussels wrote this review.

The hotel is in the financial district 15 mins walk from the centre. The reception staff are excellent and very helpful. Other staff in the bar restaurant seemed less engaged and uncomfortable See More  Read more information towards the end of service.
