Home from Home in Salzburg

The Austrotel Hotel was home from home with free juices and water all day in the lounge. The Staff were always very pleasant and helpful. If in Salzburg we would defineately stay there again. Beautiful buildings aswell as beautiful sceneries outside town on the mountains and lakes tour, but unfortuneately the tour was too short as no time to look around at our stop at St. Wolfgang. We just had a quick bite to eat and had to dash to our waiting coach.

The Haus der Musik is a wonderful day out for anyone the least bit interested in music. You can compose a waltz, conduct an orchestra - absolutely no experience necessary! Loads of hands on fun stuff for both adults and children plus more serious stuff. Be warned you could literally spend all day here. The Palais Palffy. Vienna is full of people selling concert tickets. Don't know what the others are like but Palais Palffy is the real deal. A quintet of musicians playing Mozart and Strauss in a lovely old salon. The musicians were very good as were the dancers and the singer. The small room gave a more intimate atmosphere and probably did replicate what it was like in Mozart's time. To be recommended. We went for the cheapest seats and we could hear and see everything fine.

Buy a Salzburg card for up to 3 days - very good value Eat in Zum Fidelen Affen - good atmosphere, food and staff Use the local buses - e.g. for a trip to the Untersberg
