First Weekend Trip To Amsterdam

We had an excellent price deal at the Dorint Sofitel Airport Hotel from Superbreak.com Excellent quality room and sports facilities. Breakfast second to none.We used their shuttle bus to the airport and back( every 1/2 hour) then caught the train to Central Station - very easy, cheap and quick. The cafe at the corner of Spuistraat and Kattengat (cross from central station over Prins Hendrikkade down Hekelveld Martellaars Gracht - keep right) served the most divine Dutch Apple tart/cake with cream and ice cream We used 2 books The DK Eyewitness Travel - Amsterdam £12.99 and DK Eyewitness Travel - Top 10 Amsterdam £6.99 books which were invaluable

Short Break in Amsterdam

The Ibis Airport Hotel is essentially just that. For a one-night stop-over before continuing on your journey. Their shuttle bus to and from the airport was superior to that of the Crowne Plaza Airport, where we've stayed previously. It's a pleasant enough hotel room, perfect for a night of shut eye! The only negative was a horrible smell emanating from the bathrooms which was adjoining the bathrooms behind the reception desk. (rooms 103 and 105)I did complain, but it was after 10pm, we were leaving early the next morning and I don't think anything was done about it!
