out of 5The family decided to stay over to see the first match of the season against blackpool. It was a typical season opener, with a lot of hope, but a poor result. We kept the club shop open until late, getting some bargains and the new kit for this season, despite the result. Hotel was great and we all had a swim the next morning before the trip back to north yorkshire. Better luck next time city.

out of 5We arrived after tea on the friday night, check in was painless and we were told about the facilities. We visited the health club but we were disappointed with the size. Lots of gym equipment but very small sauna in each of the changing rooms which meant we couldn't all go in together. No steam room or jacuzzi and pool quite small and cold. This was however the only gripe about the hotel. Our room was spacious but quite near to the busy dual carriage way but on the second nite we shut the window and put the air con on which did the trick. Our room was very clean and the breakfasts were lovley, we asked for well cooked bacon and it was no trouble. We enjoyed our stay in hull and found lots to do for a weekend. The old town is well worth a look round lovely cobbled streets and old houses. Mainly bars and eating places, no shops, we found the restaurant zillis there and it was very nice food, we had lunch there and went back again for our evening meal, although the area did start filling up with people going out on the tiles but we were back at the hotel by ten and didn't see and trouble. The marina is very interesting to look around,, when we were there there was a regatta on so lots of boats to look at. The museum quarter filled up our sunday, there is lots to see. Hull also has plenty of shops, if its retail therapy you are looking for. All in all a very pleasant weekend, i would recommend it.
