Great place,well worth the trip

We've been visiting Harrogate for years now and once again were not disappointed. This year the icing on the cake was the weather which was superb, almost got sunburned. We had a good room at the front with fabulous views. Although we like the relaxed atmosphere of Harrogate we had two trips to york & leeds by rail. This was excellent value for money and the views particulary over the pennines to Leeds are well worth it. Leeds is an excellent shopping centre and what can you say about historic York. The only downside to the weekend was that someone bumped our (new) car in the hotel car park and decided to remain anonymous. I checked with the hotel management but they do not have a cctv system covering the hotel front & car park. Maybe they should invest and give visitors a little protection!! Overall however a good stay with good food and friendly staff, we will definitely return.

We spent 3 days in Harrogate and stayed at the Yorkshire Hotel right in the middle of Harrogate with shops on your door step and betty's tea rooms over the road from hotel. We were on the 4th floor and over looked the park very nice view. Room was huge with king size bed. Bathroom lovely and big also clean. Clean towels everyday. Staff friendly and make you very welcome.

Good relaxing weekend break.

The hotel, the staff, the breakfast were excellent. The room was a little small but we were at the front of the hotel with a good view of the park.

I found the Yorkshire ideally situated. Whilst central, the location allowed for relaxation. A stone's throw from the town centre, but you'd never believe it. I found the staff extremely helpful whether at reception or the restaurannt or bar. I'd stay again, in fact I wouldn't stay anywhere else on a trip to Harrogate. Thouroughly good stay, thanks.

Our visits to local attractions such as Fountains Abbey, Bolton Abbey and Skipton Castle were most enjoyable and the visit we made to Harlow Carr rhs gardens was exceptional. The Yorkshire hotel was, on the whole, comfortable although it is in some need of refurbishment as it is showing some signs of age. It did not spoil our enjoyment of the visit to Harrogate.

A great place to visit. Good shopping, excellent choice of restaurants, nice atmosphere & a good base for exploring beautiful Yorkshire.

Love this place, Just the right size and handy for going to York and Leeds.

Everything about the min-break was great.

the hotel was disappointing, great curtains but cobwebs on the wal, rickety sliding door to bathroom - would not stay there againlovely town area, great shopping and friendly locals

The location is excellent, couldn't be in a better position. We understand it has had a recent renovation, and the reception area & restaurant we fine. But our room, although clean, was rather dark and needed an overhaul & refurb. The bathroom we had to complain about, as there was a lot of mould on the sealant of the bath, we had to get someone to bleach it off, and there still was a lot left. Also the shower didn't work very well. But the breakfast was very good, hot and plentiful.

the break was ok but let down badly by the food in the hotel

We stopped at the Yorkshire hotel a very warm welcome greeted us in reception. Lovely gardens in front of hotel,a lovely town to visit, and Betty's tea room is well worth a visit. The hotel is ideal for the Moors or Dales.

The Yorkshire Hotel one of Folio hotels.Claims to be recently refurbished it is not recent and would suggest it is in urgent need of a total refurb staff overstretched but still pleaant rooms not worthy of a 1 star rating

Exhibition was great - well worth the visit from Devon. Let down by Hotel. Dark and gloomy. Staff unhelpful. Very limited carparking - on a first come first basis in front of hotel. Had to park my car on the side of the road. Room had an extremely noisy sanitation system and very smelly - worked on the same principals as a domestic waste disposal unit. Asked staff for air freshening spray because of the smell but housekeeper could not be found and therefore none supplied. Water did not run away whilst taking shower. Room was not particularly clean. Breakfast was basic with very little choice. Glad it was for one night only. On the positive side - Excellent home cooking, good wine and service with a smile at the Garden Restaurant, Montpelier Square. Would score 10/10. One of the best restaurants I've eaten in and excellent value for money. Will definitely return to eat here.

Some nice bars at the back of the Hotel where we had early tea. Visited the Blues Bar on the evening, which is a short distance walk away to watch a band. Had a fantastic night. Next morning did some shopphing - some beautiful shops in Harrogate. Was disappointed in the bathroom in the hotel - in need of refurbishment and cooked breakfast was cold. Service was not over helpful either, had to ask for toast.

Harrogate is a wonderful place to visit and the Yorkshire Hotel is very well placed in the centre, but I think that our room was in the servant quarters. They also could not have changed the mattress for years, hence the bad night that we had.

In a pleasanr enough room at the rear of the hotel, backing on to a lane which housed nightclubs/late-night bars. No chance of sleep until after 2am. Feel hotel should have made us aware/ allocated rooms accordingly.

The Yorkshire Hotel was the best value for money I have been in.

Hotel no Manager avialable, rooms were freezing, no complaint forms, glass of water spilled on bed cover, bed made and cover tucked under which meant at night the sheets were also wet, why not change the bed cover no one was there to understand our concerns. I would like an explanation from the Hotel Management as to why there was no one there to see to our complaints
