out of 5Bar very expensive £7.60 for small glass of wine, also very noisy, they clean out the dispense on a sunday evening, the noise was so bad it emptied the bar.

out of 5Loved the Wessex Hotel being in the centre of this lovely pedestrianised centre of Winchester with its ancient buildings. The room was large and bathroom bright. The hotel was opposite the Cathedral and a lovely park, a square with plenty of pavement cafes. Visited Portsmouth for the Gunwharf Quay shopping complex whilst here and Fort Nelson Royal Armouries and also Jane Austen Museum at Chawton, Alton. Really worth visiting Winchester and its surrounding area. Visited Bangkok Brasserie and various cafes. Would definitely recommend the hotel and dinner in the restaurant was excellent.
